The main character of our Projection Mapping will be a little wisp. It appears on the building and is very shy at the beginning then accidentally bumps into the building while it is having fun floating around. When the wisp bumps into the building christmas decoration appears. The little wisp gets frightened at first but after a while it sees that there is nothing to be scared of. After happily flying around and decorating the building, the wisp sits down exhausted in front of the building and a christmas tree appears. The wisps fear from appearing decorations is the antagonist in this story. The fear is the thing that holds the wisp back. The interesting thing about this story is, that the audience will be able to feel the emotions of the wisp and identify with it ever speaking. M E N U

C o n c e p tThe main part of the concept of the story is about emotions. Through using realistically

designed animations we want the audience to feel and understand what the wisp is feeling. It is important that the audience will put themselves into the wisp itself. We choose the realistic animations to give work with the pathos of the video. Thereby the decorations that we have

designed are made as hand in hand with the animations in order to keep the consistency. The level of realism in the design of the decorations adds to the ethos and support our realistic

choice of animations. The theme is "To conquer the fear with curiosity and to overcome your fear". This theme also plays on the christian version of christmas in Scandinavia, When it comes to decorations. In real time while the projection is meant to happen the christmas

market will be open and busy and the decorations will be apart of the next door annual market to implement ethos into our project.

The ideas about the music so far is that it should support the Wisps feeling of movement. And also be apart of the emotions the wisp is expressing. Such as having a slow and calm tone of

voice and there by mirror the cheerful spirit of the wisp and it's excitement about the christmas decorations. While his first discover of the decorations he will feel fear for this

foreign item and the sound should be more messy and maybe slightly faster. The feeling of the exaggerated tempo and the stair that would go from a low tempo to a higher tempo. High

pitched and maybe go for a theme of violins that are almost screeching or take advantage of a low tuned cello.

We decided on approaching a realistic style for our video, but still wanted to work with own made Illustrations and no pictures. We did all of them in Adobe Illustrator. The main colors we choose were red, green and golden, typical Christmas Colors.

Our main character was developped in Maya. First we made a prototype and made a first approach of the final video with it. After that the wisp was developped further by us with magic lightning and smoother movements.

We‘ve been working in Adobe After Effects to put the Illustrations and the wisp together with the sound. That‘s were we animated everything, according to the wisp‘s movements which were already formed in Maya before. We resigned on animating the Illustrations on purpose, in order to not make it look too messy.

Choosing the right sound was very important for our project since our story was told without a human character nor any spoken or written words. It was important to transmit the wisps feelings of fear in the beginning, then the curiosity and finally the joy he feels while decorating the building.M E N U
