pact o The chemical industry is one of the main
supports for the life sciences industry. In thecase of a respiratory disease such as theCOVID-19, the oxygen used to assist breathingand treat hypoxia is more important than ever.In addition to oxygen, the chemical industrydevelops other medicinal gases withmultiple applications.
o The chemical industry also contributes withantiseptic and disinfectant products, synthetic fibres materials to design hospitalmaterial and cleaning chemicals such as soaps, detergents and disinfectants.

In Mexico, there is a huge demand forchemical specialities that currently involves alarge volume of imports (negative tradebalance of the sector). 2018 was a year ofgreat challenges for Mexican chemicalcompanies, leading to a significant revisionto find actions to increase profits, moremarket share or to participate in newmarkets.
The French chemical sector industriesoccupy 5th place in the world rankings. TheUIC promised to produce 20% of chemicalswith biobased products in 2020, which couldgenerate 13,000 direct jobs. It is estimatedthat the green chemistry sector in France willgrow by 6%. Specialists in Biorefinery, nanocellulose, enzymatic catalysis andfermentation are needed.
The chemical industry is the second largestindustry in Poland after food. Poland has atrade deficit in chemical products and seeksto fix this situation by facilitating the entry toinvestors or companies that want to producein the country. For this reason it hasimplemented several fiscal measures tofacilitate the entry of interested companies.
80% of the country's exports come from thetextile sector and contribute 20% to thecountry's GDP. Bangladesh has set the goalof getting clothing exports to a value of50,000 million USD by 2021. It has very littleoffer of chemicals, technologies andaccessories for the elaboration of clothes.

Colombia has a significant production of oiland a hydrocarbon industry. The industrydemands high-performance chemicals thatoptimize production processes and respectthe environment. There is also a demand forfinal products that incorporate added valueand serve to improve characteristics or toextend product life, as in the case of furnitureand wood.
Most chemicals in West Africa are imported, because of the low local production that islimited to detergents, cosmetic products, paint and fertilizers but at a basic level.Specifically, the following products aredetected as opportunities: fertilizers, pesticides, chemical products for watertreatment, industrial chemistry, constructionchemistry.
It is the 16th most important chemicalproducer in the world, but most raw materialsare imported. There is a large localconsumption of chemical products.Consumption comes mainly from fragrancesand aromatic essences of the hygienicsector. There are also opportunities inproducts and innovators for plastic factoriesand paint, textiles, petrochemicals andconstruction.
In 2018, several factories will open in thenew Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park(investments worth about 2,000 billiondollars). Sumgait offers several advantagesfor chemical companies thanks to theirfavorable location, proximity to rawmaterials, direct transport connections, lowcost energy availability and connection tothe modern electricity and gas networks.
