The Spanish Employment Agency in N igeria hereby perm itted under Section 65 of the Labour Code Act, Chapter 91 to engage (subject to the provfaions of the said Act) in Eastern N igeria through recruiters licensed under Section 70 (1) (a) of the said Act, Nigerian workers not exceeding four thousand and eight hundred (4,800) in number during the period 1st October, 1963 to 31st M arch, 1964 for service with die Spanish Chamber of Com merce, Fernando Po, in the Equatorial Provinces, such workers to embark from Calabar.

2. In accordance "w ith the provisions of Section 66 of t^ Labour Code Act, the Spanish Employment Age|icy in N igeria has been required to give and has given by funds deposited with the Treasury at Calabar security in the amount of two hundred pounds (£200).

3. This perm it shall remain in force for six months (or any shorter period during which the perm itted number of workers shall have been engaged here-

Telegraphs for the conveyance of mails by M otor Transport, thrice weekly, in each direction, between Kano and Katsina and such other intermediate places on the route as may be nom inated by the D irector, for a period of 2 years from 17th December, 1963, w ith the option of extending for a further period of one year.

2. M ails are required to be conveyed on such days and such time as may be appointed, in writing, from time to time, by the D irector or his officers.

3. The average volume and weight of mails to beconveyed on each journey are at present’ :— "

Outward.— ^Kano-Katsina 11 bags 371 lbs.Inward.— Katsina-Kano 9 bags 105 lbs.

4. Tenders should be enclosed in sealed envelopes endorsed “ Confidential— Tenders for mails” and forwarded by registered post to the Postal Controller, M inistry of Commim ications, Posts and Telegraphs D ivision, Kaduna, to reach him by noon on 31st October, 1963.

5. The D irector, Posts and Telegraphs does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

6. The Contractor w ill be required to accept the conditions concerning the payment of “ far wages” as set out in the Appendix to Government Circular No. 57/1946 dated 30th August, 1946. A copy of the Appendix may be seen on application to the Postmaster, Katsina and the Head Postmaster, Kano.
