WELCOME

JOHN

GARABEDIAN

We are pleased to welcome John Garabedian, a Seminarian of the Fall River Diocese, to the Catholic Community of Falmouth where he will serve the parishes of our collabora"ve during the Summer months. John is entering his 2nd year of Theology at Immaculate Con-cep"on Seminary (Seton Hall University) in New Jersey and is a na"ve of St. Mary’s Parish in Mansfield. Welcome, John, and know of our prayers for you as you con"nue to discern your call to the priesthood.

We appreciate your support of our parishes, espe-cially during this difficult "me when collec"ons have diminished. Thanks to those who have dropped off their envelopes and other dona"ons. If you wish to place your dona"on in just one en-velope (as opposed to mul"ple weekly envelopes,) please feel free to do so. All three parishes can now par"cipate in the WESHARE on-line dona"on program whether that be a ONE-TIME DONA-TION, or a temporary weekly or monthly dona-"on, or even perhaps using ON-LINE GIVING as your permanent means of support. Contact Dan Cunha in our business office if you have ques"ons. As you know, the weekly collec"on is our primary means of support. From this, we must pay u"li"es, insurance and most importantly, our faithful em-ployees. As always, we thank you for anything you can do. —Fr Steve

People are returning…. It is great to see, in all of our churches, that the num-ber of parishioners returning to the pews is increas-ing each week. More and more people are begin-ning to feel comfortable coming back to public Mass-es. It is important, now more than ever, to con"nue to follow the “PASTORAL PLAN FOR REOPENING “ that has been formulated for the churches of Fal-mouth. (Please review the Pastoral Plan on our web-site.) While no plan is perfect, we believe that this is our best effort at keeping our liturgies both reverent and safe! I would like to reiterate that all need to wear masks upon entry and sit according to the di-rec"ons of the ushers, which means filling in the pews from the front. While some people prefer their “favorite pew” , that just cannot be an op"on at this "me without disrup"ng our safety protocols. In Chris"an charity, please consider other persons first before your own preferences.

At this point, we are not quite at capacity in each of our churches but the numbers indicate we will be there soon. We remind you that we con"nue to live-stream the Masses from St. Anthony’s as well as broadcast on FM 87.9 for those who remain in their cars (communion available a!er Mass) , also at St. Anthony’s, and will be discussing some op"ons with the Pastoral Council this coming week.

Thanks to all of you for your coopera"on. Your will-ingness has gone a long way to a successful reopen-ing of our churches. And a special thanks to the ar-my of volunteers who serve both as ushers and with the task of sani"zing the churches a!er each Mass. Without you, we would not be able to be open at all! —Fr. Steve

The 79th Annual Fall River Diocesan Catholic Appeal “See All the People” has begun! While de-layed because of the pandemic, we cannot delay in our call to respond to those who are in need in our communi"es. As Bishop da Cunha wrote in his le'er to all parishioners: “It is most cri"cal to con"nue the work of the Catholic Appeal” which includes suppor"ng food pantry programs, hous-ing for the homeless, pathways out of addic"on, and spiritual support for those in hospitals. One of the beneficiaries of this appeal is the Weekly Diocesan Catholic Mass which airs on ABC6 (Cable 22 in the Falmouth area) and where I have served as Director for over 30 years. In these past few months, the TV Mass on broadcast television has been an important apostolate to those who have been unable to a'end Mass and did not have the benefit of lives-stream Masses because of their inability to access the internet. Please consider, as your means allow, suppor"ng the efforts throughout our diocesan community. Contribu"on cards were mailed to parishioners. You may contribute directly on-line by going to the website www.givefrdiocese.org/2020

Much of our present data is incomplete and outdated, so we would ap-preciate your help so that we may be'er serve you and your family in the future. If you are seasonal members, please s"ll fill out and note that on your form. Thanks!
