Come Holy Spirit Come!
Fruits of the Holy Spirit : Love- asks nothing in return and is seen in concrete actions toward the needs of others before our own. Joy– deep and constant gladness in the Lord that circumstances cannot destroy. It comes from a good relationship with God and others– a relationship of genuine love. Peace– A disciple faithful to God’s will is serene, not overly anxious. This comes from knowing that all will work out well because God is with us. Patience-We are confronted with difficulties on a daily basis. This is love that is willing to endure life’s suffering, difficulties, and routine. It means not giving up in difficult situations. Kindness-This is shown by generous acts of service. Kind people are com-passionate and considerate. They try to see the best in others. Goodness-This Fruit of the Holy Spirit flows from God’s great love. It is a sign that you love all people without exception and do good to them. Generosity-This is a willingness to give even at a cost to yourself. It expresses concern for meeting the needs of others even if it means sacrific-ing something of your own. Gentleness– Strength tempered by love leads you to be gentle, peaceful, and gracious. This is having the power to forgive instead of being angry. Faithfulness-Keep your promises. You are faithful when you show loyalty to God and to those whom you have committed yourself. These people are dependable, trustworthy, and obedient. Modesty– This is moderation in all your actions, especially your conversa-tion and external behavior. Modesty is a sign that you give credit to God for your talents and successes. Self-control– You can discipline your physical and emotional desires by be-ing modest and respectful of others. With this you can be in charge of your emotions and desires instead of the other way around. Chastity-the integration of your physical sexuality with your spiritual na-ture. All People follow this, married and single. It helps one regard his/her own body and those of others as temples of the Holy Spirit. catholic faith-

New Evangelization Corner Dear Friends,
Today on the Feast of Pentecost, we celebrate the Church’s birthday. Throughout the Easter season, we’ve been following the adventures of the early Church. After the Holy Spirit descends, continuous movement flows throughout the whole book of Acts. The early church courageously goes out to preach the Gospel; we read about mission, persecution, bold faith, conversions, and miracles. But before the Apostles launch into action, they are instructed to "wait" for the promise of the Father. A profound stillness precedes the great "Acts" of the Apostles. With Mary, the Apostles gather together in the upper room to pray with hope, longing, and expectation for the Holy Spirit's coming. Like the Advent season that prepares us for Christ's birth, the Apostles must wait in silence, prayer, and hope as they prepare for the birth of the mystical body of Christ (the Church). Their hearts must be ready and receptive to receive the great gift of the Holy Spirit. At the heart of the upper room is Mary, the one who 33 years earlier was made fruitful by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit. Mary's open-ness and receptivity created fertile soil for the Holy Spirit to descend and bear fruit. In the upper room, she teaches the Apostles how to open their hearts in faith to receive the great gift of the Holy Spirit. Brothers and Sisters, if we want to bear fruit that will last, we must become a recollected people who receive the Holy Spirit and give space for the Word to grow. Before we "Act," we must first be still. May Mary, Mother of the Church, fashion within us hearts that are peaceful, still and receptive to the great Gift of God. Veni, Sancte Spiritus! Come, Holy Spirit! ~Kristin Molitor

O God, send forth your Holy Spirit into my heart that I may perceive, into my mind that I may re-member, and into my soul that I may meditate. Inspire me to speak with piety, holiness, tender-
ness and mercy. Teach, guide and direct my thoughts and senses from beginning to end. May your grace ever help and correct me, and may I
be strengthened now with wisdom from on high, for the sake of your infinite mercy. Amen.
