Few schools in the world can match the global, innovative and diverse nature of the Schulich School of Business. But Schulich has only recently begun to make a mark in what Dean Horváth calls our “next frontier” – research.

not truly recognized until the 1950s as something that could be studied, business management has since evolved into one of the most complex areas of academia, with profound implicationsfor economic growth and social well-being. only through research can Schulich continue to make major contributions to business and society.

our faculty’s outstanding research work has been recognized externally through numerous awards and through the annual rankings conducted by some of the world’s most prestigious business publications. The 2014 Bloomberg Businessweek ranking rated Schulich among the top five schools in the world outside the u.S. in its intellectual Capital category, which measures high-level research output. And the 2014 Financial Times of London business school ranking rated Schulich among the top 15 publicly funded business schools in the world in the area of research.

But it is in the new and increasingly important fi elds of management thinking where Schulich really excels. our School is a globally recognized leader in the fi eld of responsible business research. Corporate Knights magazine, in its most recent ranking of the best schools in responsible business, rated Schulich #1 for research. In addition, we are home to 28 funded research chairs and professorships, and Schulich’s centres of excellence are vital sources of leading-edge, fi rst-rate research that is infl uencing the strategies and policies adopted by business, government and social sector leaders around the world.

Schulich is on the threshold of research greatness. to achieve our vision as one of the top business schools in the world, we must continue to invest in Schulich’s culture of innovation and discovery.
