An International ProgramThe entire curriculum has been developed with a focus on global awareness and current issues that people around the world are facing. These lessons are developed by master teachers from every corner of the world. Thinking globally is absolutely necessary to be competitive in today’s job market. Students will have opportunities to connect with students throughout the world to discuss and collaborate on academic and global issues. Opening the world in a positive and thoughtful manner to your child is one of the many reasons why we selected the Cambridge International Examinations Program.

Cambridge Course Offerings 2015-2016Our middle school students will receive the foundational pieces that are imperative to greater success in high school and college. Each level builds upon the last to help your child grow and learn. The five learner attributes are embedded in each lesson, encouraging your child to become a critical thinker and a problem solver.

Cambridge RequirementsStudents are required to maintain C’s in all classes, have no major or multiple honor code infractions, and no major or multiple discipline issues to remain in the program.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District’s Cambridge CommitmentCMS regards the Cambridge International Examinations Program as one of many choices for our students. We believe that by offering choices to our students, we are inviting them to become active participants in their education. To do this we have created a multi-year plan for the implementation of the Cambridge International Examinations Program. This timeline allows us to add classes and train teachers as we progress to capacity. By taking our time and doing it correctly, we allow for our schools to prepare for the program effectively. This includes resources for teacher training, text books, and testing.

Teacher TrainingAll of our teachers are trained through multiple venues. Teachers are required to complete over fifty hours of training from Cambridge International Examinations Program trainers, as well as participate in online forums with teachers from all over the world throughout first year of teaching in the program. These trainings, as well as 24 hour online support to help with questions and ideas, allow our teachers to prepare your child in the best and most effective way possible.
