Dear Friends:

A good gardener would never simply let nature take its course. Many of us have gardens.

Some are flower while others are vegetable gardens. There is a sense of accomplishment

when you harvest what you have grown or as you and others are amazed that those flow-

ers you planted just months ago have bloomed so beautifully. However, in order to enjoy

the harvest or the beauty of the flower, it takes work. Constant weeding, consistent wa-

tering, and concise pest control are all necessary ingredients to a successful garden. If

everything goes right all the work pays off with an abundant harvest and or a wonderful

display of blooms.

Just like a good gardener would never simply let nature take its course, the Chapter does

not idly sit or acquiesce to a natural course of events. We work to cultivate relationships

and programs in order to serve our current and future members. Our work cultivates

Chapter growth and opportunity. The board of directors works hard in the summer to put

together a slate of events which we believe will be of benefit to our members. We strive

to keep prices reasonable while maintaining quality programs. One of our gardening tools

we use to keep prices reasonable is advertising space in our roster books. The sale of ad-

vertising is the Calumet Chapter’s biggest fundraiser event and whenever possible please

use the sponsors of the Calumet Chapter and let them know you appreciate their support.

At this time we are in the process of trying to find advertisers for the 2012-2013 year so I

am reaching out to you. If your company or a company you know would benefit from get-

ting in front of a group of finance and accounting professionals in business please let me

know so we can see and support them. Pricing details are on the next page.

As we work to plan the 2012-2013 please remember your suggestions are always wel-come: you can e-mail me anytime at [email protected] and we greatly appreciate when you refer your friends and colleagues to the Calumet Chapter of the IMA 081 Hammond. We need your help and efforts to continue to grow the Calumet Chapter and harvest the fruits of our efforts.

The Institute of Managerial Accountants (IMA) represents more than 60,000 accountants and financial professionals worldwide. The majority of these professionals work inside businesses and organiza-tions. They comprise the essential elements of financial management, organizational development, integrity, ethics and governance, and short and long term business goal management.

The Certified Management Accountant Credential (CMA) offered by the IMA is an advanced profes-sional certification that reflects the necessary accounting and financial management skills demanded in today’s business environment.

The CMA exam was first offered in 1972. Today over 30,000 accountants and financial professionals have earned this highly recognized and global title.

Professionals who have earned the CMA hold key management roles at top multinational firms and offer their companies the real world relevance, critical knowledge, and leadership abilities to compete in today’s dynamic global business environment.
