Buckingham Dog Show Organised by Buckingham Town Council this popular event takes place in the paddock in Bourton Park. There will be 8 classes with the winners of each class going through to Best in Show. Registration start at 10am with judging from 11am. There will be prizes for the winners of each class.

FREE Turn Up and Play Basketball SessionsThe ever popular Free basketball sessions will once again be offered for young people. Starting Tuesday 17th July, hour long turn up and play sessions will be taught by Coach Jenner a qualified coach and his assistant. All equipment will be provided.

Young people aged 8-12 yrs can attend the sessions at Chandos Park at 5:30pm and young people from 13 yrs and up can attend the Bourton Park sessions at 6:45pm.

The Oxford Fiddle GroupThe ever popular Oxford Fiddle Group are returning to Buckingham again for the Fringe Week. The OFG performs songs and tunes mainly from England and Scotland, but also from Ireland and the USA. Some players also play other instruments besides the fiddle, so a typical line up for an OFG performance could include celtic harp, double bass, guitar, mandolin and concertina.

‘BOOGIE JIG’ (Janey’s Intergenerational Group) Dance and Zumba Fitness for all the family, aged 2-92!

Other activities on too, during that week. There’ll be creative workshops for teens at the Youth Centre 4-6pm on Monday 16 July and Boogie Line on Thurs 19th July during the evening, times tbc.

Youth Project FREE ENTRYThe Youth Project is a joint project with the Buckingham School and the Royal Latin School For over 10 years the two schools have been coming together for an evening of art and drama. This provides a huge scope for ideas both intense/deep and dramatic as well as thought provoking.

The theme this year is ‘Community’ and the event is open to all members of the public.

Live Acoustic Music with the Buckingham Acoustic ClubThe Buckingham Acoustic Club has been going for well over 15 years. The club runs an Open Mic night in the front room of the Woolpack pub every Thursday night, wit live music from 8:30pm, and showcases a hugely diverse range of performers: from local songwriters just starting out to semi-professional guitarists and singers.

Family Camp Out Day and Astronomy evening FREE EVENT

Enjoy an afternoon of family fun including sun and then star gazing from 8pm with Milton Keynes based UK Astronomy.

There will be a 16” (beast) Robotic telescope, 10” (big white) Dobsonian telescope, medium table top scope, 5x small tabletop scopes (kids), A top of the range travel scope (with solar capabilities, sunspots), A designated Hydrogen Alpha scope (to see flares on the sun), A beginners Inspire telescope (great for lower budgets) a huge pair of 20x80 binoculars on a tripod, 3x regular 10x50 binoculars (public welcome to use as they please) a range of eyepieces/filters for all types of objects in the sky, plus two cardboard astronauts BUZZ and TIM, a badge making machine, colouring in/educational worksheets, red lights, two experts in the field.

The Buckingham Summer Festival once again brings a variety of top quality musical performances. There will be morning piano recitals, lunchtime concerts as well as evening concerts.

Annual Bastille Day Boules Competition This annual event will take place in the Old Cattle Pens area in the centre of Buckingham. Registration is from 6.30pm for a prompt start at 7pm. A knock-out format of two ends will be used for the main competition.
