Although it has been two weeks since the passing of Jeop-ardy host Alex Trebek, the mourning continues as another “great” was lost in 2020. In March of 2019, Trebek was first diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He showed his determination and fight as he continued on with Jeopardy. He was survived by his wife, who he married in 1990, and his 3 kids. His success was shown in hosting 37 seasons and over 8,200 episodes of Jeopardy. He started his career in journal-ism, but in 1984 he started his TV host career (Lowry and An-done). He was an influence on many through his leadership, intelli-gence, fight, and humorous comments. He touched the lives of many, even including sports stars. Minnesota Viking’s wide receiver Adam Thielen wore custom Alex Tre-bek cleats. They included Alex Trebek’s head with a halo over them to remember the legend. They included the words, “We will miss you Alex.” When interviewed, Thielen said, “no matter where you were from I feel like Jeopardy was a part of all of our lives in some way”(NFL Player Honored Alex Trebek With Custom Cleats). Although he is no longer with us, the legend of Alex Trebek continues and will be remembered for genera-tions to come. Although it may be heard of his long TV host job, we will remember him as a forever fighter and role model as years continue. Lowry, Brian, and Dakin Andone. “Alex Trebek, Long-Running 'Jeopardy!' Host, Dead at 80.” CNN, Cable News Network, 9 Nov.

Welcome back to the Mountain View Car article from the one and only Ben DeMark. Today’s featured car is the 2021 Toyota Camry TRD. To start off, you may know the Toyota Camry as a Mid size sedan family car. The TRD? This is not just your normal family sedan. With this new design and set up, to purchase this car the MSRP is around 35,000 dollars once all said and done. When you find out what this beast of a car has, you come to a realization that you are getting a lot more than what you pay for. Starting of the exterior of the car along with the motor. Stepping up their game, Toyota add-ed some new sleek designs to the body of the car to make it have that sportier look. Talking about sporty, this motor is powered by a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder engine with a stock cat-back exhaust. Right out of the factory, this car makes right around 300 horsepower as well as a really intelligent ECU that is very tunable. Switching around to the interior of this car. It comes fully loaded with leather seats and dash. It has an 11 inch built in GPS, bluetooth screen, and radio. It has a Heated steering wheel , and heated seats around the full car. In the grand scheme of things, the Camry TRD is a family sedan that will get you from place A to B in a zip (don’t drive too fast), while still driving in full luxury and heated seats. Toyota Rocks!!!!!!

Throughout the halls of Mountain View there are many different people you might encounter. Different students and teachers going about their daily business. One such person you might encounter is Mr. Breese. If you do not know who Mr. Breese, he is currently substituting in for Mr. Sinkovich, and teaches in learning support. I got the opportunity to inter-view Mr. Breese for this article and this is what he had to say. What is your favorite part of teaching? My favorite part is the opportunity to hear students analyze and discuss literature in class. What is your favorite memory teaching? I once had a student tell another student something to the effect of, "I learned from Mr. Breese that nothing is going to get done if we sit around complaining. Be quiet and work." That was easily my proudest moment. What inspired you to start teaching? Honestly I was talking about this recently with Mrs. Martens, because I graduated with 8 people who became teachers. It made me realize that I had so many teachers here that are passionate about what they do, and clearly love their jobs. I saw how much they cared about what they did, and I wanted to have that same love for my job. Because of them, I also found a job I love. I hope you enjoyed this article and learned a lot more about Mr. Breese from it. I know I did. Also a special thank you to Mr. Breese for allowing me to interview him for this article.

In the world of soccer, I think the biggest issue is the wage gap between men and women. The USWNT (U.S. Women's National Team) is full of strong women that work hard, but are they seen equally? They have not one but two goalies with the most shutouts in World Cup history, and has more clean sheets than any team in the competition’s history with 23. The USMNT(U.S. Men's National Team) did not even qualify to play in the 2018 World Cup and have never won a title. The women's team brings in more revenue than the men's but still get paid less. This has been one of the biggest issues in the world of soccer and there was even a lawsuit made shortly after the USWNT parade in NYC after winning their second world cup in a row but the fight is not over.

Thanksgivings almost here and I know a lot of you are excited! Did you know that they didn’t eat turkey at the first thanksgiving? They ate deer, and seafood instead. Also did you know that Thomas Jefferson, one of our presi-dents refused to recognize thanksgiving because he was said to believe in “ a wall of separation between church and state”? In conclusion, Thanksgiving has a interesting history that is very enjoyable to learn about. Happy thanksgiving!!!

Many people have daily activity goals that they accomplish with the help of a Fitbit. Not only are Fitbits great for people, they are great for cows too! Much like how a person wears a Fitbit to track their health, heart rate, steps, and sleep, farmers use Fitbits to track their cows. A farmer can use a cow’s Fitbit or activity monitor to gain insight into cow health and activity. Activity monitors are used to continuously monitor cow behavior 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Activity monitors are used for several reasons which may include: identifying when a cow is ill, detecting changes in behavior, monitoring cow comfort, and predicting when a cow is going to calve. Now that you know what a cow’s activity monitor can do, you may be wondering how do they work? A cow’s Fitbit- either a neck collar, leg bracelet, or ear tag- syncs wirelessly to a network box. The network box then sends a signal to the cellular tow-er which sends the data to the cloud. The cloud then syncs all of the data to the farm’s devices so that they can track the cow whether it be on a phone, com-puter, or another handheld device. There are many brands of activity monitors but no matter which brand a farmer uses, they all supply the farmer with many benefits. One benefit of activity monitors is that it acts as the farmer’s eyes even when the farmer isn’t there. It also reduces labor and time for monitoring cows and improves pregnancy rate by better heat detection and timed breeding. By detecting illness earlier, cow health improves by reducing the time and expense needed to properly treat a sick cow. Additionally, the farmer can know when to check on a cow who is close to calving. Several years ago, my family started using Fitbits on our cattle and they have surely made a difference in our overall herd performance. In the end, Fitbits can help both humans and farmers stay on track by monitoring health. If you have a goal of getting fit, remember to refuel yourself after working out with a glass of nutritious chocolate milk. Consider becoming even healthier by getting your 3-Every-Day servings of dairy that provide your body with nutrients that help keep you up and running at your very best potential.
