WHAT DOES THEBLUEPRINT REPRESENT?

BLUEPRINT BASICS

Front Porch

This makes us ask the question, "What is the church and what is it people should see?"

Living Room

This makes us ask the question, "What is the significance of a small group and how does it work?"

You may be wondering for the first time or maybe you've been wondering for quite some time, "What exactly is the BLUEPRINT?" The BLUEPRINT is simply something to help our student ministry keep its identity and something for you to take on as your own. It breaks down in three different parts that ultimately stem from the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.  The three parts include: The "front porch," the "living room," and the "kitchen." These three parts represent different aspects of ministry that take place.  If you were to come to our house you would first see a front porch. It may be small, but that would be the first thing you see just like you wouldwith any house. The front porch of a house is open for all to see who come by. This represents our outreach ministry that takes place.  If you were to walk through our front door you would walk into the living room. Also small, but you would be there in the living room! The living room is full of good times that include lots of laughter as well as meaningful discussions regarding life and Jesus. This represents our small groups/discipleship ministry that takes place. Lastly, but not least is the kitchen. As you made your way through the living room you would find yourself in the kitchen in our house. This is where many hours of service and hospitality take place. Usually by Amy! There is hard work that is done in the kitchen. This is the place where you're not being served, but you are the one serving. In other words, you take your bib off and put on the apron! This represents our service/missions ministry that takes place.  Hopefully this will help you understand just a little bit better of what the BLUEPRINT is. It isn't just a cool logo. Although, it is that. It represents who we are. There is something important to remember about our ministry and church: The church is not a group of perfect people. It is a place for sinners saved by grace, a place for God's children to be nurtured and grow strong. It is Christ's sheep. This is who we are.

This is important because you get to be a part of biblical community. You get to be a part of something bigger than yourself. You are able to learn what it means to grow in Christ and experience growth with other believers just like you. .

Kitchen

This makes us ask the question, "Why should I serve and how do I find my place in serving?

When you begin serving and living on mission for Christ you begin to learn that the church doesn't simply serve me, but I am called to serve myself! It's not what can the church do for me, but what can I do for the church. It isn't come and see, come and sit, but come and serve. We can do this when we take our eyes off ourselves and look at the cross of Christ!
