ECK Worship Service

The public is warmly invited to attend ECK Worship Services on selected Sundays in Montana cities listed below. Each service focuses on an aspect of Eckankar teachings. They often feature a reading from the ECK works; singing HU, talks, music, and a group discussion of spiritual principles at work in daily life. The service lasts about one hour. Join others seeking to bring more insight and divine love into their lives at this special celebration of the Light and Sound of God.

Living as if …

The chela must therefore assume the feeling of already being in the state of God-awareness. He does not do this for a few moments only, but accepts it as part of his own self and carries it around like the fragrance of a rose. It establishes itself in the magnetic field around him and influences all that come within its orbit. Once it gains a foothold it is very hard to dispel. The crucial point, however, is living within the core of the God State and never hoping that you might.

HU is one of the most sacred names for God. If you sing it, it’ll give you the spiritual insight that other people wish they had. But it doesn’t come overnight. You have to develop it like any other skill.

HU, The Most Beautiful Prayer A GIFT TO THE WORLD

HU is an ancient name for god. It is also a love song to god. All that we do with the word HU is to sing it with reverence. It represents the love of God for Soul, and we are Soul. HU represents the enormous love that the Creator has for Its creation.

Divine love has no conditions – it simply loves. God loves, but not because we deserve it or have earned it. The reason is simply that God is love, therefore God loves. We are Soul, God’s creation, and It loves us because that is Its nature.

HU can be sung by anyone, whether Christian, Muslim, or any other religion. It isn’t meant to change your religion. HU, will enhance it.

Each religion is a classroom. As a Soul finishes one classroom, It goes to another classroom, to another religion – not necessarily a higher one, but another one. Soul chooses Its classrooms of religion on earth until It has learned everything It wishes to learn there.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PRAYER

A young woman, “Nora,” had lost touch with a friend of hers. They hadn’t been in contact for eight years. Then her friend, “Suzy,” wrote to her. So Nora wrote back about how her life had changed since they’d last been in touch.

Nora explained that in the meantime she’d come in contact with Eckankar and she had learned this world HU, this ancient name for God, this love song to God. She also called it the most beautiful prayer.

Nora didn’t hear from her friend again for some time. Then Suzy went into the hospital for treatment for a recurring medical condition. Because of her treatments, she had to get injections for the pain every half hour throughout the night.

Suzy was very frightened of the pain and the shots she needed to endure the pain. She was just terrified of having to go back to the hospital because she’d been through the painful treatments before.

But then she remembered what Nora had told her about HU, the most beautiful prayer. And she thought, Well there’s no harm. Might as well try it. I’ve got nothing else facing me except this pain and fear.

So Suzy began to sing HU. As she sang HU, a sense of peace and calm came over her. And throughout the entire night, she didn’t have any pain and didn’t need any of the injections.

The next morning, her doctor asked her “Why didn’t you need any injections last night? Why were you able to pass the night in quiet sleep?”

She said, “Because of HU, the most beautiful prayer.”

“What do you mean?”

Suzy explained that a friend of hers had told her about this in a letter, and she had the letter with her.

‘May I read the letter?” the doctor asked.

OPPOSITES

A couple had been together for several years. Sometimes the man looked at his mate and said, “We are so totally different. Why are we together at all?” About this time he received his monthly Soul Travel 2 discourse from the ECKANKAR Office. When he opened the discourse and began reading, he noticed that half the pages were blank. He tried to read a page, miss a page, and still pick up the spiritual meaning of the discourse. But he couldn’t. So he called the ECK Office and told them. “It’s just a printer’s error,” they said. “We’ll mail you another discourse right away.” Before his corrected discourse arrived, however, his mate got hers. Since they were both studying the same lesson, the man thought, I’ll just read hers until mine comes. But when she opened the discourse, half of her pages were blank too – just the opposite of his. The man had wondered how such opposites could stay together, and the answer had come through the ECK discourses. Put together, his attributes and her attributes were teaching them lessons which they could not hope to learn alone, lessons about the spiritual path, living, and love. Even though they were quite opposite – as different as a printed page and a blank one – together they made a whole.

Then Suzy had to see two other doctors. These two doctors also asked her about how she had gotten through the night without any pain.

She said, “Because of this HU.” And they wanted to know about it too. HU – the most beautiful prayer.

This is just one example of how to help yourself spiritually. There are many areas where HU works.

During the time you’re singing HU, you are saying to Divine Spirit, “I’ve opened myself to you. Give me the understanding and the wisdom to meet the waves of life – the problems, troubles, and whatever else. Give me the strength to meet life.” This is basically what we do when we do this spiritual exercise.

But don’t expect HU to work as you want, because God’s love, as it comes down and heals, does things its way. Not my will, but thine be done – the nondirected prayer.

Spiritual Laws of Life The Law of Polarity

The Law of Opposites. The third law of the physical universe; the state of opposition between any two related factors; yin and yang (negative and positive), feminine and masculine; the negative, or reactive, side and the positive, or active, side; the third part is the passive, or middle, path; each thing within this universe is supported, animated, maintained by, and is in opposition to its opposite.

Polarity simply means the state of opposition between any two related factors: light and darkness, heat and cold, material and immaterial, harmony and discord, positive and negative, north and south, male and female, etc. Harold Klemp, The Spiritual Laws of Life, p. 121.

The Blue Star News of Montana -5- March/April 2016 TWO STREAMS TWO STREAMS The lower worlds, which include all the heavens up to the Soul Plane, are worlds of dual of duality; everything exists by and because of its opposite, male and female. These lower worlds, even those far beyond the Astral and Causal Planes, are still fed through the divine action of the Holy Spirit, the Light and Sound. Light and Sound in the high worlds are one action.

In the lower worlds there are two forces, very different, which we see as either the positive or the negative force. And in each person there are these two currents, stronger or weaker. This is not to say that men are the positive force and women the negative, or vice versa. It doesn’t work that way.

You have both streams within you, and the one of the streams, the positive or the negative, is stronger. This is how it is.

These streams are the Light and Sound of God in each person. This is what makes the light of Soul. If the light of some Souls is very dim, it is because people are at different states of consciousness. They are at different spiritual levels, and so their lightbulbs shine with different brightness.
