NAVIGATOR’S MESSAGE
Sir Knights,
I would like to give a big “Thank you” to the Honor Guard who participated in the Union Station Columbus Day
celebration: SK Harry Post, SK GK Tony Bocchichio, SK Jose Rio and SK GK Tom Masarick, and PSD, PFN, JP
McCusker. Also many thanks to all those who came to the Haymarket Day Parade. Fr. Murphy is trying to get the
community behind our efforts in building a church and your participation was critical. SK GK Bocchichio, SK’s Dennis
Corrigan, Thom Harrington, Louis Sheffield, Carlos Sousa, Joe Cahill, Chris Sozio, Tony Guiney, and SK Jose Rio. We
ended up leading the parade and was approached several times at how well we marched.
Thank you to SK Louis Sheffield who marched with me at the Sterling, Columbus Day parade.
We only have 4 parades left: Christmas, March 4 Life DC, VA March 4 Life Fredericksburg, and St. Patrick’s Day.
The month of November begins with a holy day of obligation, the solemnity of All Saints as well as All Souls Day. We
should pray for the dead throughout the year, especially on the anniversary of their death, but in November, this Month of
the Holy Souls, we should devote some time every day to prayer for the dead. We should start with those closest to us—
our mother and father, for instance—but we should also offer prayers for all the souls, and especially for those most
forsaken. Prayers such as:
1) Eternal Rest
2) Weekly Prayers for the Faithful Departed.
3) Prayers for our Deceased Parents.
4) Prayer for Mercy on the Souls in Purgatory
5) Prayers for All the Deceased and all the Souls in Purgatory.
Thank you all for all you do.
It looks like we will have 16+ candidates taking their 4th degree.
Sir Knights, please, I ask you to reach out your hand and introduce yourself to our new Sir Knights. Make them feel
welcome and stay in touch with them. DO NOT let them fade away. We need Sir Knights to step up and help with our
events. Don’t be afraid to ask them to help out with a dinner, sub sale, event, or parade. We want them to feel welcome so
ask them to get involved. If you see someone you don’t recognize, walk up and introduce yourself. Let them know when
we are having our next meeting and or event. Stay engaged. This is also applicable to our current 4th degree Knights who
have drifted away. Please take the initiative and invite them back.
***If you would like to chair an event or would like to suggest activities/ programs please contact myself at: [email protected].
The success of the Assembly depends on events where Sir Knights, their families and our brother Knights find exciting and inviting.
May God Bless you,
Yours in Service,
Greg Murray Faithful Navigator

MESSAGE FROM SUPREME
Uniform Announcement from the Supreme Master Dennis Stoddard
TO: Vice Supreme Masters
District Masters
State Deputies
FROM: Dennis J. Stoddard, Supreme Master
RE: Uniforms
Over the past two years the Order has accepted bids from several domestic companies to manufacture our uniform. Four
companies submitted sample uniforms for committee consideration.
Our primary concern was member cost and having the same identical fabric as our first uniforms ordered so there would be
no noticeable difference in fabric, style or color.
I am pleased to report that the Order has contracted with “The Supply Room.” TSR is a world class, leading manufacturer
and distributer of military and law enforcement uniforms located in Oxford, Alabama, USA.
Their executive and management staff have well over 100 years of experience and have built a solid reputation for quality,
price competition and most of all, excellent customer service, and offer dedicated customer service representatives to
handle only Knights of Columbus uniform orders and issues. We are certain that you will be pleased with their service, as
well as the price.
Our KofC web site will be updated very soon with order and contact information. I would suggest that members hold off
on placing orders until we are fully operational.
Sincerely and fraternally yours,
Dennis J. Stoddard
Supreme Master
Additional information from the Knights of Columbus:
This message pertaining to the Fourth Degree regalia contains the corrected phone number for customer service.
We are pleased to welcome “The Supply Room” (TSR) as the new distributor of Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree
regalia.
TSR is a world-class, leading distributer of military and law enforcement uniforms, located in Oxford, Alabama. In
addition to 100+ years of experience and a solid reputation for quality, they will offer customer service representatives
dedicated to Knights of Columbus uniform orders.
Our uniforms will remain of the highest quality, while the cost will drop to $449. Because of the transition, all ordering of
uniforms will be suspended Nov. 1 and resume on Dec. 1.
What to know:
As before, orders may be placed at kofcuniform.com.
• The customer service number remains the same and is available at 1-833-562-4327.
• TSR customer service is able to assist with questions regarding uniforms ordered from the previous fulfillment
company.
We remain grateful to our Sir Knights and are proud of the dignity and respect with which you represent the Order in your
parishes and communities.
Thank you for letting us serve you.

**Sir Knights, please spread the word to our brother Knights throughout the councils, that they are ALL welcome to come out and march with us during parades. All Knights are welcome to march
with us and are welcome to carry their Council banners as well. Only Sir Knights with the new uniform will be able to carry the flags and take the lead in the parades. However, all
other Knights may still participate by either wearing their council shirts or if they are Sir Knights may wear a dark suit with white shirt with a plain front and plain collar, conservative tie, name
placard, miniature ribbons, social baldric and PG113 pin. No cummerbund or white gloves may be worn with your social baldric.
Brother Knights -
The men of the Bishop Flaherty Assembly, Knights of Columbus, will be selling their world famous
submarine sandwiches after evening Mass on Saturday November 16th, and after all Masses Sunday November 17th while supplies last. This will be the second sub sale for the season.
All subs are made fresh, with baloney, salami, ham and provolone cheese. Lettuce and tomatoes are
placed in sandwich bags, on the side. All proceeds will be used towards All Saints and Knights of Columbus Charities.
Kindly support us, with both appetites and time:
We will need several Sir Knights selling the subs after all Masses while they remain.
Sub preparation work will be on Friday November 15h, at 5 PM.
Sub assembly will be on Saturday November 16th at 7 AM.
In the event we have enough subs for the Sunday 5:30 Mass (we will try!),
I will need extra help since I have afternoon duties at the National Shrine (Basilica) in DC.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPCOMING
EVENTS IN THE NEXT 2 MONTHS
ASSEMBLY QUICK LOOK CALENDAR EVENTS, PLEASE PLAN TO SUPPORT:
Fr Jon O'Brien Council presents:
Monte Carlo Casino Knight: Tickets are now available for online purchase on a pre-sale basis to
members of the FJOB KofC Council. Tickets can be purchased at the FJOB website (https://fjobkofc.org/casino-night). This pre-sale is being made available to FJOB Brother Knights now, before
the event is announced to parishioners and the general public on Sept. 29. If you are planning to attend, it is suggested that you buy your tickets early since there are a limited number of tickets
available and the event may sellout quickly.
Complete details about the Monte Carlo Casino Knight can be found at the FJOB website (https://fjobkofc.org/casino-night). To briefly summarize, the event will be held at The Regency Dominion
Valley Golf & Country Club in Haymarket on Nov. 16. Tickets cost $60 per person, and include a sit down Italian Buffet dinner, served with a glass of red or white wine, followed by dessert. Each ticket
also includes $200 in Casino Fun Bucks and 1 Triple Crown Horse Race ticket. Casino table games will be available to play (Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, and Texas Hold-em), Triple Crown Horse Races
(winner receives $500 cash grand prize), and Money Board Raffle. There will also be prize raffles and silent auctions.
Gaming, Hospitality, and Financial Sponsorships are still available -- please see the FJOB website
(https://fjobkofc.org/cassino-night) fora list of available Sponsorships along with a detailed description of each. Perhaps the company you work for or someone you know who owns a business would be
interested in being a Sponsor. It is a low cost way to advertise and promote their company. A fun sponsorship that is still available is to own and name your own horse (cost is $100 per horse). Anyone
or company can own and name their horse, which will run in the FJOB Triple Crown Horse Races. The owner of the winning horse in each race will receive a prize.
We are also seeking prize donations such as sporting event tickets (Redskins, Capitals, and Nationals),
electronic items, and gift cards. Please let me know if there is someone who you think may be interested in either donating a prize or becoming a Sponsor. I will be happy to contact them. Just
provide their information to me and I will send them a written request.
All Sponsors and Donors will be acknowledged in the Monte Carlo Casino Knight Event Program,
FJOB website, and SKD / SSM Church Bulletin.

LADIES OF THE FOURTH DEGREE
Ladies,
A great big THANK YOU to all those who helped in any way in our Yard Sale: to Allison Barnes (Monica's daughter) who
designed our flyer, to those whose idea it was, who stored all those items, who lugged all the contents of the shed to the
Hall, who unpacked, organized, priced those items, those who donated items, those who saved plastic grocery bags, those
who assisted our customers with their purchases, to our cashiers, to all those who came and supported us, to all those who
packed up the remaining items for transporting to the Appalachians, those who cleaned up the Hall. We couldn't have done
it without you!!! We did really well money wise especially since we were up against the Youth for Tomorrow, Jubilee in
Old Towne Manassas and other walks, etc. Again, My Thanks! And our Treasury thanks you!!!!!!
Have you sent in your RSVPs for the Deceased Members Dinner on Nov. 8 and the Veteran's Dinner on Nov 9? If not,
