Authorship

The epic Mahabharata is traditionally ascribed to the Sage Ved Vyasa; the Bhagavad Gita, being a part of the Mahabharata's Bhisma Parva, is also ascribed to him.

Date of composition

Hindu traditionalist asserts 3rd or 4th millennium BCE, around the beginning of Kali Yuga.

Scholars accept dates from 5th to 2nd century BCE

Gita is spirituality, secularism and religion clubbed together.

It is more of life science.

Gita is based on Ancient Indian System and Wisdom.

You cannot just translate to English and understand it.
