Authorship

The epic Mahabharata is traditionally ascribed to the Sage Ved Vyasa; the Bhagavad Gita, being a part of the Mahabharata's Bhisma Parva, is also ascribed to him.

Date of composition

Hindu traditionalist asserts 3rd or 4th millennium BCE, around the beginning of Kali Yuga.

Scholars accept dates from 5th to 2nd century BCE

Gita is spirituality, secularism and religion clubbed together.

It is more of life science.

Gita is based on Ancient Indian System and Wisdom.

You cannot just translate to English and understand it.

“The Earth is more away from the heavily bodies then by stacking 100 cows one above the other”

The distance to diameter ratio between sun and earth you will get 108.31

यदा यदा िह धमर्स्य ग्लािनभर्वित भारत ।Yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati bharata

अभ्युत्थानमधमर्स्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम् ॥४-७॥ Abhythanamadharmasya tadatmanam srijamyaham

पिरत्राणाय साधूनां िवनाशाय च दषृु्कताम् । Paritranaya sadhunang vinashay cha dushkritamधमर्संस्थापनाथार्य सम्भवािम युगे युग े॥४-८॥

Dharmasangsthapanarthay sambhabami yuge yuge

Whenever there is decay of righteousness, O Bharata,And there is exaltation of unrighteousness, then I Myself come forth ;

For the protection of the good, for the destruction of evil-doers, For the sake of firmly establishing righteousness, I am born from age to

age.
