Behaviourists say that the language learning process is carried out through Conditioning.

Conditioning: “to train or influence a person or animal mentally so that they do or expect a particular thing without thinking about it”.

According to Cambridge Dictionaryhttp://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/condition_3

Over time he learns to associate with sounds to situations, For

example:

When the mother feeds her little baby, she makes sounds of endearment and the baby finds this pleasureable . Conditioning to language has begun when this sounds are still pleasurable when this sounds are not accompained by food.

After a while the child starts imitating speech sounds that he has heard to get attention from his mother.

If the child produces vocal stimulus and these sounds are appropiate to sound like a word, the mother responds.

Language teachers must follow these conditions of the behaviour model of learning:

Language is learnt by practicing.

Language cannot be taught divorced from the situation. This must be a meaningful situation.

To produce a right response the students requires attention.

The spoken language comes before than the written.

The receptive experience is necessary before the productive experience.

The learner must know if his effort is right or wrong.

Learning is faster if the student is placed to the situation, and if he produces a correct response is said that he has really learnt.
