IN MEXICO
Since 7000. C. to 5000 B.C., ancient people were able to domesticate some edible species, such as chili, avocado and pumpkin plants.
THE AZTECASThe were such a large population that were forced to reside on the islands and devised the procedure of artificial islands or chinanpas, which allowed them to increase their farmland and deal with the consequences of population growth.
This is a raft frame made with logs and sticks, sometimes of considerable dimensions, on which topsoil properly selected biodegradable materials such as grass, leaves, shells of different fruits and vegetables, etc. are deposited.
