In 1964 the Beatlesfirst movie, A HardDays Night, opened. The reviews wereexcellent. It wasdirected by RichardLester.
They have the kind ofmagic that the MarxBrothers have.
Movies with popstars in themhave always
been poor. Thisis different. Itsoriginal!
A Hard DaysNightwas about
the Beatlesthemselvesbutmaking fun of
themselves.
It was about how they felt imprisonedby their own success. In the movie
they were always being chasedby fans; they dealt with reportersnonsense questions; and they were putdown by people in power.
