SOCIAL NEWS: Glendean Parker spent a grandmotherly

Christmas with her son Lee and family in New Ross.

Ginny, Gary & Emily Hurlock hosted their annual Christmas party—wall to wall guests enjoyed the food & enter-tainment.

Todd and Sam Sloan also held a fun-filled Christmas party at their home; the theme: un-decorating the tree!

Cecil Hooper wasn't happy with just one Christmas party: which featured pizza prepared by Anna Greene. He also treated his friends to a feed of lob-ster on New Year's Eve!

Noel Lalonde celebrated his birthday on Dec.. 23rd with a party at Myrtle and Rosie's and a surprise visit from Elvis who was looking really good for an old guy!

Sandy Leonard hosted a New year’s party for many of her friends.

Teresa Henshaw won $100.00 worth of lobster from the Order of Eastern Star in Digby on Dec. 8th.

Matthew Wambolt, Goose Bay, Labra-dor, was home for Christmas, visiting parents Susan and Gary Wambolt.

Congratulations to Kelly Foxton on the birth of a baby boy, Dec. 11.

Adrian Cox, who is stationed in Baie Verte NL, made a surprise visit to par-ents Eric and Linda Cox. Nicholas, from Halifax, was also there for the festivities.

Congratulations to Ashton Sproule, grandson of Bobby and Donna Perkins, for winning the Ceramic Pointsetta Christ-mas tree at the Legion Ladies Aux Christ-mas Draw. The tree, made by Janie Hanshaw in memory of her grandmother Irene Harris, was donated to the draw.

From waking up in Prague on Xmas morning, to watching the fireworks over Amsterdam from the boat on New Years’ Eve, Zoe and Jeff Knorek-Onysko had an amazing trip by river boat cruise through Germany for two weeks over the Christmas holidays.

Carol and Miles Jefferson had a lovely Christmas with visits from her mother Lillian of Ottawa, and their two daugh-ters, Jessica and Danielle. Carol & Lillian travelled to New Brunswick to visit with family. We are all glad to have Carol back from Afghanistan for good.

Paula Saccente is in hospital recovering from injuries incurred from a recent fall.

Francois Bellefontaine writes in a recent postcard: "Greetings from New Zea-land...We are enroute to Auckland after having visited such fab cities as Dunedin & Wellington. The real joy in the country is the beauty of its mountains, fjords, beaches & geothermal geysers & mud-baths. P.S. Australia was also fab!"

Ginny and Emily Hurlock have traveled to Costa Rica to volunteer at a sanctu-ary for the rehabilitation of baby sloths. They are very much enjoying the botani-cal life & practicing their Spanish. HOLA!

Betty Raymond visited her daughter Erin in Virginia for the month of December.

Mike Burrell was home from Afghanistan in time for Christmas with family.

Shirley Charlton is settling into her new home at the Mountain Lea Lodge.

Flora Doehler put aside worrying about artist’s block during the Christmas holi-days while enjoying a visit with daughter Emily, from London. Flora, Larry Knox & Emily visited many friends over the holi-day season.

Frank Meuse was re-elected Chief of the Bear River First Nations on Dec. 11th.

Congratulations to Sue Comeau who is the proud grandmother of a baby boy. Sue traveled to Ontario over Christmas to be with her daughter for the birth.

CONGRATULATIONS: Marion and Richard Milbury celebrate 64 years together on the Feb. 7th Karen and Gordon Mansfield celebrate 41 years of marriage on Feb. 19th.
