What is the BCREPC?• The Barnstable County Regional

Emergency Planning Committee is a Regional “All Hazard” Multi-disciplined Emergency Planning Organization.

• We are a Support Function for the Participating Communities and Agencies.

• On September 11, 2002 the Barnstable County Commissioners Voted to Make the Steering Committee the Barnstable County Interim Emergency Planning Committee

Tasks of BCREPC“All Hazards Planning”

• Hazardous Materials Management• Mutual Aid/MACC Support• Weather Events/ Cape Cod Traffic Plan• Regional Sheltering Plan• Homeland Security Grants Management• Liaison for Preparation and Planning for Public Health

Emergencies• Medical Reserve Corps/ Volunteer• Support Local and Regional Incidents and Exercises

Multi Agency CoordinationCenter

• The MACC would be used for “All Hazard Response”

• Harbor View Conference Room• MACC The community maintains

the Incident Commander Role.• The MACC provides the region with

one voice with regional coordination

• MACC is staffed by the BCIMT. It most often provides support to the communities with storm response. Ex. NSTAR, Shelter, MEMA

• MACC Set up for commissioner Review

Regional Sheltering Initiative• Locations

– Nauset Regional HS, Eastham– Cape Cod Technical HS, Harwich– Dennis Yarmouth Regional HS– Barnstable IS– Falmouth HS– Sandwich HS

• Veterans School Provincetown.• Bournedale School

• Plan was developed to consolidate sheltering in the region– Volunteer Shortages

• Shelters have been opened for many weather events since 2008• Full Service Partner Shelters

– MRC, ARC, CERT, DART, ARES

• Plan Approval By Commissioners 12/14 then Approval by 15 Towns

BCREPC Initiatives

• Cape Cod Citizens Corps Council: Volunteer Reception Center Exercise 10/14

• Cape Cod Medical Reserve Corps: 300 + Volunteers , Choke Saving, CPR, Most Active MRC in the Nation

• Sheltering: Memorandums of Understanding with Medical Supply Vendors, VNA, Volunteer Organizations,

• Cape Wide Purchasing Contracts for Debris Removal and Emergency Management Consulting Services for FEMA Reimbursement

• Tier 2 Season January through March, 350 Hazardous Materials Reporters

• Development of Regional Small Business/Economic Recovery Plan

• Work with Cape Cod Times Needy Fund
