Terms & Conditions

Deposit: Confirmation of booking is required by return of booking agreement and a non-refundable deposit of equal to the cost of your venue hire is payable within two weeks of making your booking. This deposit will secure your booking. The Balcony Function Centre cannot guarantee any booking without a deposit.

Final Numbers: Final numbers are required no later than seven (7) days prior to your function and this will be the minimum number of guests you are charged for.

Payments: Full payment is required three (3) days prior to the function and can be paid by bank cheque, direct deposit, cash or credit card. There will be a 2.5% surcharge for amex and diners credit cards. Personal cheques are accepted; however payment must be made ten (10) working days prior to the date of your function. All bar accounts require credit card details to be supplied prior to the commencement of your function to allow for processing. Additional charges will be finalised at the conclusion of your function and charged to the credit card.

Responsible Service of Alcohol: Due to licensing laws, no liquor can be bought onto the premises by any guest at any function. The Balcony Function Centre practices the Responsible Service of Alcohol. By law any person under the age of eighteen (18) years may not consumes or purchase an alcoholic beverage. All Responsible Service of Alcohol legislation applies to all guests at all functions.

Entertainment: All entertainment MUST be approved by management at The Gunyah Hotel. Due to licensing and noise restrictions all entertainment is to cease by 11pm. All entertainment acts are to maintain a responsible noise level as not to disturb hotel neighbours.

Surcharges: A surcharge applies for all public holiday booking. Please contact the functions manager for more information.

Menus: Please feel welcome to discuss any special dietary requirements or special requests with our function manager. Menu prices are available for children between 3–12 years of age.

Price Changes: We endeavour to maintain prices originally quoted to you, but they are subject to change without notice where bookings are made well in advance.

Damages: All damages sustained to any part of the venue, equipment or merchandise left on the premises prior to, during or after the function is sole responsibility of the organiser. Confetti, rice, small metallic shapes, polystyrene balls or the like are not permitted on the premises and a cleaning fee of $100 will apply if this request is ignored.

Cancellation: Bookings cancelled will result in loss of deposit. A change of date less than sixty (60) days prior to the function will also result in the forfeit of the deposit. Booking cancelled within seven (7) days of event require total full payment of planned event.

Decorating the function room: You are more than welcome to theme your event as you wish, however we do ask that you speak to staff beforehand to ensure that you are using materials that will not damage the room. All Decorating and themeing companies must be approved by management to ensure they have the relevant insurances before working at the venue.

Personal Property: The Balcony Function Centre cannot accept responsibility for guest’s personal effects or valuables. Please ensure all personal property is taken with you at the conclusion of the function.

Damage to function centre: Any damage to any part of the centre by the organiser or their guests is the responsibility of the organiser. Please check with us before attaching any materials to walls, ceilings etc to ensure that no damage is sustained.

21st Birthday Celebrations: A bond of $500 is payable for all 21st birthday celebrations which is returned within 5 working days of the functions, provided there has been no damage to the Hotel. Security is required for all 21st birthdays at a rate of $40 per hour per guard. Functions of up to 50 guests require one (1) guard and functions with over 50 guests require two (2).
