TRANSCRIPT
The Australian National Rover Moot is held every three years, the year after the National Jamboree
and the year before the National Venture. These events are traditionally held in the Australian
Summer, from late December until early January encompassing the New Year celebratory period.
The 21st Australian Rover Moot, running from 30 December 2019 to 10 January 2020, is being hosted
by the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Branch on behalf of Scouts Australia and have also been
granted the honour of being the 13th Asia‐Pacific Region (APR) Moot, which is the first APR Moot since
2002. As the capital of Australia, Canberra is home to many International Embassies and High
Commissions which provides the city a diverse and multicultural environment. Because of this, the
CBR Moot team and ACT Branch feel a greater connection to our neighbours in the Asia‐Pacific Region
and are honoured to host the 13th APR Moot. We welcome you with wide arms to attend our event
and we hope to inspire other Rovers to continue hosting APR Moots in the future.

The theme of CBR Moot is ”Creating Better Rovers”. This was brought on by the idea that our event
will challenge all members who attend, to find the best in themselves and push their boundaries to
becoming a better Rover. We will be operating on the newly implemented Rover Program within
Australia, and we hope that all members who attend will be able to experience a large range of
activities that will incorporate scouting skills and local tourism.

The CBR Moot will use the Camp Cottermouth campsite located on the edge of urban Canberra and
peaceful bush surrounds. The Moot will run for 12 days in total which will has a seven day program
with both Onsite and Offsite activities. As well, both Participants and International Service Team will
have the opportunity to experience an array of activities in the local surrounding regions of Canberra
during the five days of Expedition Activities. It is our mission to provide such quality of activities that
all members who attend will leave having improved themselves through the new Scout Program and
areas of Personal Growth.

Singapore and Qatar Airways from Doha.
Alternatively you can fly via Sydney,
Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth or
catch a bus or train from Sydney too!
What’s so great about Canberra?
Although we are well known to have a
reputation of being full of politicians and
roundabouts, there is a reason why they chose
to put Australia’s capital city here. From the
beautiful natural surroundings combined with
a new adventure always only moments away,
to the great food spread throughout the
territory. There’s a relaxed small town vibe in
our city and something for everyone to fall in
love with in the Nation’s Capital. It's no
surprise it was voted third best city in the world
to travel to by Lonely Planet in 2018.
