History….
The Arc of Southside has provided quality supports in the Danville area for over 50 years
While these programs are the backbone of who we are they do not define who we will become!
It’s time for CHANGE!
Current Programs of The Arc:
• White Oak School– Provides K – 12 education
• MT Sorrell Group Living Home – Supports people living in a shared home who need
daily assistance with living skills • Hatcher Center – Provides employment training to people to
prepare them for work
New Vision for our Future!
While we are proud of our history, we are moving to Inclusive supports where people HAVE:
• Choices• Access to services that respond to their needs• A better life where they are included and
respected for who they are
• Nice home• To feel safe• A job we succeed at• Friends, relationships, to love and be loved• HAPPINESS
We don’t want more and won’t settle for Less
We all want the same things…
New Opportunities for People We Support
• We must ensure people have the same equal opportunities to access their community and to be included
Real JobsAppropriate Education Housing and residential options for their needs
