The Anton Group Acquired Two New Members
The Global Capital Group, co-chaired by Eric Anton and Nelson Lee, aims to secure foreign capital to invest in U.S. Real Estate, specifically in the New York Metropolitan Area.
On September 27, the Group hosted KOFIA (The Korean Financial Investment Association) which aims to educate investors in order to create a global standard in investor education in addition to providing market insights on different economies. The panel of experts included Billy Baldwin, solutions editor at Forbes Magazine, Marcus & Millichap (M&M) executives John Chang (Market Overview. Florida), Eric Anton and Nelson Lee (New York) and Tony Azzi (California). Each presented on their respective areas of expertise. In addition, our Net Leased Properties expert at M&M discussed his niche market. Lastly, the panel included executives from the law firm Goulston & Storrs and from the development firm, Rabina Properties, who shared their different perspectives.

The Global Capital Group Hosts KOFIA
Though it is too early to tell what the effects of the new rent laws will be upon future sales of multifamily properties, we are interested in determining whether this is an asset that our client base will continue to demand. The majority of the sales which
occurred in the second half of 2019 went into contract prior to the enactment of the laws. These new laws have created a cloud of uncertainty in the market and there
is still no definitive indication of what the ultimate result will be. In 2018, the dollar volume of sales over $10 million was approximately $4.5 billion. This year it is
anticipated that the dollar volume will be approximately $2.6 billion, a drop of 42%. Sales of residential elevator buildings have declined 30% from 2018 and sales of walk-
up buildings are projected to have declined approximately 70% from 2018 levels.
