PAWS-ING FOR A MOMENT OF THANKS
CARE’s mission is to conduct animal rescue by providing medical care and placing animals facing impending euthanasia into foster and permanent homes; to increase awareness for the need to sterilize pets to reduce overpopulation; to establish a mobile spay/neuter clinic; and to work with and advise animal shelters in central Arkansas on animal welfare issues.
Created in 1998, CARE has grown from an initial group of four volunteers into an organi-zation with three employees and hundreds of volunteers who devote thousands of hours to its rescue/adoption and spay/neuter efforts and to recruit the necessary fi nancial support. CARE is a 501(c)(3) Arkansas nonprofi t corporation and a charitable organization fully funded by donations.
Your participation in Paws on the Runway makes a tremendous difference — perhaps more than you know. Thanks to you, CARE has saved the lives of more than 3,000 cats and dogs and aided in the sterilization of more than 10,000 pets in the last 15 years. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at next year’s event!

Have a howling good time as you sample a variety
of delicious food, bid on auction items, and watch
models “dressed to the [ca]nines” strut the runway.
As we celebrate a night filled with fur and fashion,
remember that while some trends come and go, one
that will always remain ‘en vogue’ is helping an animal
in need. It never goes out of style and it always fits…

LIVE AUCTION ITEMSLIVE AUCTION ITEMS
LILY PUP is nine months old, weighs 32 pounds, and is a Labrador Retriever mix. She is looking for a forever home.
SONIC (FORMERLY STUBS) is a three-year-old Terrier mix that was rescued from the Cabot Animal Shelter. He went to his forever home on March 22, 2014 and loves his new life with owner, Amy. After a nice long walk or romp in the dog park, he settles into his favorite spot on the couch for a well-deserved nap!
POPPY (FORMERLY STITCHES) is a three-year-old Chihuahua that was rescued from a hoarding situation in White county along with 68 other dogs. She went to her forever home on August 10, 2013, and while she bears some scars from her past life, poor care and overcrowding feel like distant memories. Now she spends her days and nights in a loving home with Patsy, her two-legged mother, and a couple of four-legged siblings.
RUDY (FORMERLY OLLIE) can credit a great deal of his recovery to his foster mother, who prepared him for the life he would eventually share with is adoptive mom, Judith.
ELVIS (FORMERLY PLUTO) came to CARE after being found injured and abandoned by his previous owners at a vet clinic. He quickly recovered from his injuries after receiving a lot of love (and treats) in his foster home. He found his forever home with the Holmes family during a Saturday show-ing at CARE and now has a human sister named Maggie and a canine brother named Henry (also from CARE). His adorable underbite is matched only by his cute personality!
POLLY is a three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. This CARE alum was recently featured in Soiree. May 1st is a special occasion for Polly because she is not only participating in Paws on the Runway but also celebrating her owner’s birthday.
SHELDON is a CARE alum that was adopted by POR committee member, Laurie Holman. Sheldon was rescued from a hoarding situation in White County with 68 other dogs. His past now a distant memory, this Terrier mix now lives in the lap of luxury with his fellow canine siblings.

FOR ADOPTION
These dogs are available for adoption through CARE for Animals. Please call 501.603.2273, visit careforanimals.org, or email [email protected] for more information.
CARLISLE is a six-year-old Schnauzer mix. This CARE alum possesses an infectious smile that has won the hearts of many and is rivaled by few.
BETTY LOU is approximately three years old and is a CARE alum. This beautiful Brindle mix is the adopted daughter of one of our committee mem-bers, Claudia Barone. The envy of many young women who have whispered under their breath, “I wish the Barone’s would adopt me,” Betty Lou is living the canine (and human) dream.
SARGE is a pure-bred Schnauzer. This CARE alum weighs about 22 pounds and is approximately three years old.
BARNEY FIFE is a CARE alum whose adoptive mother won the opportunity to walk in this year’s fashion show, during the live auction last year. Keep an eye out for this dapper canine and his owner!
ZEUS is a two-year-old, harlequin-patterned Great Dane. This gentle giant is a Paws in Prison graduate and weighs in at a whopping 130 pounds! Proof that occasionally, size does matter, his human, Jeff Voyles, says of Zeus, “He’s just about perfect…Biggest problem is, he insists on sleeping in my bed. I’m about to upgrade to a King size.” Zeus agrees that this is the best kind of ‘problem’ that humans and canines could ever share…
VIPER is Arkansas’s First Dog. A handsome German Shepherd, he belongs to Governor Mike and First Lady Ginger Beebe. No stranger to the runway, he walks in the fashion show each year at this event. He serves as an honorary co-chair with his humans this year. He also likes being the official greeter of guests to the Governor’s Mansion and drinking from the fountains.
