Dear Friends,

February is an interesting month! There are two events of significance that take place. The first is the Super Bowl in which our beloved Jaguars once again will not be playing. The second is Tu B’Shevat, the “New Year of the Trees” or Jewish Arbor Day. In Israel, hopefully, the first buds of a bountiful harvest begin to appear. Perhaps the buds for a fruitful football season for the Jags will emerge as well! At the J, we will celebrate with a Tu B’Shevat Hike and Seder. Why not join in this wonderful family activity? At the end of the month, the JCA will present its wonderful annual fundraiser! Bright Lights, Big City will be the theme, and it will be an amazing event. This year the Block Family are the honorary chairs of the event. Mickey Block, of blessed memory, was one of our original pioneers who envisioned and worked diligently in the formation of the J. I know that he would be delighted to see how the JCA has evolved and become a vibrant part of our community. This event is a tribute to him and all of our amazing founders! The JCA Young Concert Artists Series is back this month with a presentation by the Zorá String Quartet. We appreciate the Berman Family’s generosity in making these concerts available free of charge. This is one of many cultural offerings that we have at the JCA. If you have been in the fitness center as of late, you may have notice our new state-of-the-art cardio equipment that has been installed. This equipment has the latest technological advancement, including internet capacity as well as the ability to track your workouts through the Cloud. Come on in, workout and have fun!

Sincerely
