annual gala brings the Foundation closer to

In 2016, Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation
celebrates 20 years of transformations in
cancer treatment and care. The Foundation
honors Gabrielle’s legacy by funding the
most creative ideas in cancer research with
an eye toward getting treatments from the
bench, to the bedside, to a cure.

support of scientific projects for cancer prevention, detection, and treatment

the highest caliber of physician-scientists at an early stage in their
careers, allowing them to pursue their most creative ideas
Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research funds the best and brightest junior investigators whose research
focuses on finding less toxic treatments for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and related cancers.
Since its inception in 1996, the Foundation has funded more than $27 million dollars in grants making it one of the
largest non-governmental sources of grant support to blood cancer research in the nation. On average, eighty-five
cents of every dollar raised directly funds cutting-edge cancer research.
Its sister chapter, formed in 2012, provides support for blood cancer research at Great Britain’s leading research
institutions. These efforts bring the Foundation’s total worldwide giving to nearly $28 million dollars.
