Paul Revere spied on the British and was the fastest express rider. Apparently the British were so awful they gave taxes for tea, and because no one liked to pay taxes they went to protest at the Boston tea party. Since he was the fastest express rider he was chosen to warn the colonist. This was called the Famous Ride. Revere had a wonderful life but apparently it ended when he died on May 10, 1818. Lexington and concord in battle

The first battles of the American Revolutionary War were the battles of Lexington and Concord. They fought on April 19, 1775 in 5 towns. Each battle was between the 13 colonies and Great Britain, in British north America. Colonel Francis Smith and his men tried to steal supplies in Massachusetts militia concord. The battle was just beginning. First shots were in Lexington from the British army’s. The militia were out numbered so they fled. Colonial soldiers attacked 3 companies from the King’s troops on North Bridge. The British army fled, but the minutemen attacked them on open territory. Minutemen were winning. All the red coats were unable to find hidden arms, and someone accidentally set a court house on fire. The British retreated once more to Boston. Every American hid and attacked the British while they were leaving for Boston. On the British side 73 men were killed, 26 were missing, and 174 wounded. On the American side 50 were killed, 5 missing, and 39 wounded. Because the Americans were strong they were going to fight for their Independence which is what they did.
