His advisor at Clements was Donald Wilson. Shane served the Ala- bama Association as Vice President. He participated in the state public speaking, nursery landscape and quartet competi- tion. Shane's SAEP consists of cotton production and work placement at Pro- gress ive Farmer magazine. He uses management methods such as conserva- tion conto ur farming and integrated pest management in his cotton opera ti on. In order to ful fi ll his duties as a national office, Shane wi ll take a year's leave of ab s ence from B irmingham- S outhern College, wh ere he is majoring in political science . President George Bush's address, -at a special session of the 64th Na tional FFA Convention. was one of the highlights for the participants.
