The AhmadiyyaMuslim Community
he Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a
religious organization, international in its
scope, with branches in over 185 countries in
Africa, North America, South America, Asia, Australia,
and Europe. This is the most dynamic Muslim commu-
nity in modern history, with worldwide membership
exceeding tens of millions.
The Community is an embodiment of the benevo-
lent message of Islam in its pristine purity. Wherever
the Community is established, it endeavors to exert a
constructive influence of Islam through social projects,
educational institutes, health services, Islamic publica-
tions and construction of mosques, despite being bit-
terly persecuted in some countries. Ahmadi Muslims
have earned the distinction of being a law-abiding,
peaceful, steadfast and benevolent community.
On December 27, 1891, seventy-five persons attended the first
gathering (Jalsa) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Qadian,
India. Upon its successful completion, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam
Ahmadas announced that a three-day gathering of the
Community should be held every year. Today,
Community chapters from all around the world
hold annual gatherings that attract thousands
of followers. Attendees benefit from annual
progress reports, faith-inspiring lectures, and
increased bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.
