Celebration High school is known for its school spirit. We wear the colors of The Storm proudly. When people see our colors and spirit, they know exactly who we are. Though as of lately, there has been a lessened amount of spirit being shown at games. Some of the crowd turns toward socializing than watching the game and cheering their team on to victory. The turnout at home games is always large, yet the vibe coming off that large crowd is dull. We as proud Celebration students need to step up and let our show of spirit. We want to win as many games as we can, and the team would feel more motivated when their “support” is actually showing support!

Our spirit can come in many forms such as cheering and chanting along with the cheerleaders, wearing our storm colors, and even fun face painting and bright signs. Teachers,

Mr. Rains and Mr. Foley, have created a group called Storm Chasers to help eliminate this lack of spirit. Storm Chasers are loud and creative students who go to games and shout chants and cheer to get the crowd hyped and involved. They wear face paint, make signs, and bring props to show their amazing spirit. Students want to see a change in spirit; we want to let everybody know that we’re The Storm. We need to make that clear, and say it loud and proud.

So, at the next game, come sit with the Storm Chasers and show your Storm Pride!

High school is a milestone in every student's lifetime. Just like the yearbook, a class ring can represent memories, accomplishments, and friendships. A class ring tells your four-year journey during high school and everything you have accomplished during those incredible years. The tradition of a class ring as a teenager's rite of passage has been going on for decades now. Even if your family has never had one before, you can still get yours.

If you are a upperclassmen, it is your time to get your unique class ring. Your ring can be customized as you like; starting from the style, the material it is made of, even the cut of the stone in the center. Serena Williams made it official: a year battling injuries is the reason why she is pulling out of the final two tournaments of the season. Williams said she would take a “proactive step” by withdrawing from the WTA Finals in Singapore and the China Open in Beijing “to properly address my health and take the time to heal.” Being No.1 in the world, William’s coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, suggested early on that Serena pull out of the tournaments due to her obvious struggle to complete matches.

Serena said “It’s no secret I’ve played injured most of the year — whether it was my elbow, my knee, or, in the final

moments after a certain match in Flushing, my heart,” in reference to her recent and historic upset that ended her journey for a Grand Slam. Serena has also said “I want to compete as well as I can, for as long as I can. So I am taking a dynamic step and withdrawing from tournaments in Beijing and Singapore to properly address my health and take the time to heal.”

Serena plans to return to practicing and participating in a couple of exhibition matches later on this year.

Twister On Sunday, November 1st, Universal’s Twister – Ride it Out! attraction closed its doors for good. The ride, based on the popular 1996 movie, originally replaced the Ghostbusters Spooktacular show. Many fans rode the experience one last time while also dressing up as movie star Bill Paxton (who also made a cameo in the ride’s pre-show).

Jimmy Fallon Taking the place of Twister will be Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, a new simulator ride based off of the racing games played on the Tonight Show. This new attraction will take guests to multiple landmarks in New York and to the show’s home in Studio 6B. In addition to the show being partnered with NBC Universal, Jimmy Fallon also conducted show tapings at the Universal Orlando Resort last summer.

FAST FACTS

1.Universal welcomed over 8,000,000 guests last year.

2.The old Jaws attraction has been known as one of the most expensive attractions ever with a “jaw-dropping” amount of over $70,000,000 in total (including its rebuilt version).

Here in Orlando, Universal

Studios has always had an extreme

reputation. Most advertisements

display it as a teens-and-adults-

only park with nothing but speedy

rollercoasters and scary rides.

This, however, is not the case

when you examine the park fully.

Woody Woodpecker’s Kidzone is

a section with rides and attractions

for younger guests. This location

contains one of the original rides

from Universal’s opening: The

E.T. Adventure.

The attraction opened in 1990 and

went through multiple renovations

since its beginning. Steven

Spielberg, the original film’s

director, encouraged new

additions for the movie’s 20th

anniversary and this version of the

ride still exists today. Spielberg

also has a huge presence in the

ride itself. After waiting outside

with movie posters and clips of the

1982 film, guests are led inside to

watch a short film. Spielberg

mentions that E.T.’s planet is

dying and he needs to travel back

to save it. Guests are then

encouraged to ride on flying

bicycles after getting their

“Interplanetary Passport.” This

passport involves you giving your

name to an attendant who will

program something special at the

ride’s finale. The queue line then

becomes super immersive as it

moves from a backlot theme to the

environment of a dark forest. The

smell of pine trees fill the air as

guests walk past alien-tracking

technology from the police. After

giving your passport to a ride

attendant, you are guided to the

flying bicycles.

where policemen are trying to

track down

and terrain

before the

alien’s magic

touch sends

you flying over the city. This

section of the ride includes the

famous soundtrack and the image

of the bicycles moving past the

Moon. The vehicles then go

through a tunnel symbolizing a

quick trip through space until you

E.T. Bids you a personalized farewell as you exit the ride.

arrive on the Green Planet, E.T.’s

home. The environment is dark

and murky because of the planet’s

dying nature. After meeting up

with Botanicus, a friend in E.T.’s

species, you are encouraged to

save the rest of his friends with

E.T.’s magic touch. From here, the

ride goes by pretty fast. You

encounter different creatures one

by one as they welcome you to the

planet before being greeted by a

giant party full of E.T. babies. The

last section of the ride includes

E.T. saying goodbye to all of the

guests by name.

It’s definitely tricky to give this

ride a proper review because of its

audience. The first half of the ride

has a thrilling yet kid-friendly

atmosphere. Reliving the scene of

the movie with you flying over the

city feels amazing. When you

finally arrive at the Green Planet,

however, the ride suddenly has an

unequal pace. New and unknown

characters are thrown at you every

second and you never see them

again. The “party” with the

miniature E.T.s is cute, but it starts

to feel unnecessary as its purpose

is to entertain younger riders.

Hearing E.T. say goodbye to you

personally is always fun, but most

experiences on the ride have

mixed-up audio. The names E.T.

says are usually from another

vehicle instead of yours. Despite

its many flaws, lots of us are

thankful for the ride’s existence.

Many classic rides from

Universal’s opening, including

Back to the Future and King

Kong, have been replaced for

current trends in the film industry.

We’re pretty lucky to still have

E.T., one of cinema’s most iconic

characters, after all these years.

Paper Towns By: John Green by Julia Ortiz

Paper Towns is an engaging mystery about Quentin Jacobsen, a Senior in high school, who lives next door to a girl named Margo Roth Spiegelmon. The story begins when Margo sneaks into Quentin's room one night and asks him for a favor. Margo takes him on an adventure full of revenge. This makes it a night he will never forget.

When Quentin arrives at school the next morning he discovers that Margo is missing and has left clues behind that could lead to her. Quentin takes it upon himself to find out what happened to her with the help of his Ben and Radar.

John Green did an excellent job in making this book both comedic and suspenseful. In my opinion this book was very captivating. If you are looking for an entertaining read that will

keep you guessing, I highly recommend this book.

Whoosh! Crack! Bang! A storm is coming. A storm of cheer and excitement. And who you may ask might be causing all this commotion? It is the one and only Stormy of Celebration High School! That’s right Celebration High School, our beloved Stormy has returned! While he has been gone there were two others who were happy to take his place, Storm and Nebula, and although we will miss them dearly, we are equally as excited to have the classic Stormy back where he belongs.

The First appearance of the dynamic duomof Storm and Nebula began two years ago during the Homecoming pep rally. Out of nowhere, a helicopter descend from above. Not knowing what was going on, students began to ask questions about this mysterious flying machine hovering above. Then, all of a sudden, a man with tall white hair, a black mask, and tall staff, exited the helicopter and a stadium full of confused students begin to stare. Students begin to cheer even though they have no idea who this “person” is. Then, a voice comes over the stadium speaker stating that this man in the purple outfit is the new school mascot, "Storm" and he had a female counterpart, “Nebula.” A shock wave of confusion and awe filled the stadiums. This was the day Celebration Highs School thought we had lost our most favored and much loved mascot, Stormy forever.

Although the two new mascots were modern and new, there was still a hole in the hearts of the upperclassmen who had been with Stormy their entire high school career. The new Storm, even with his superhero get up, could not compare to the classic “Stormy.” The new Storm meant a new person had to play him, and that meant someone inexperienced; someone who didn’t know how to get the crowd cheering, who couldn’t bond with the upperclassmen because he simply did not know how to. Games were not the same without Stormy. Stormy interacted with the audience. He made us laugh and got us pumped up when we needed. He was a beacon for the football players.

But now all that does not matter. All the missed games, all the sad souls, and all the lost school spirit is a thing of the past because we have our old Stormy! He made his big come back during this year’s Homecoming pep rally. He pulled up in a golf cart and as soon as he jumped off everyone in the stadium gave him standing ovation and a great big welcome home.

We thank you Storm and Nebula for all that you do but there can only be one Stormy. CHS, I don’t think we have to worry about losing Stormy again. I have a feeling this time he is here for good.
