2019 LIGHTING NOTES:

Version: 9 – May 2019 http://livewire.website/ Page 5 of 6

Please note that the band carry a few of their own lights. These include 6 par cans that are used to illuminate the drum kit and cannons as well as 2 custom built blinders that are operated by the drummer using a foot pedal. 13 Amp power that is separate from any audio will be required to run these

In House Lighting RequirementsWe require a series of washes from flown lights that illuminate the entire stage. Colours should include reds, blues and whites. Lights such as moving heads, crowd blinders, gobo’s and strobes are great but please use them sparingly and see the notes for specific songs below. Haze is a welcome addition to any lighting show but again please be sparing with it and keep in mind that our ‘Angus Young’ charges all over the stage and needs to see the edge and other floor obstacles at all times.A brief blackout after every song would be great but please do NOT strobe over the endings of songs as the band use Angus’ movements as a cue to stop songs dead. Please do NOT place any lights on or around the drum riser. The bass and rhythm guitar player stand either side of the riser for most of the set and use the corners for set lists, water bottles etc. Angus also stands on the corners for feature bits of the show. Any other floor package lighting should be discussed with the stage manager ahead of the show and will not be considered if they interfere with the stage plot in anyway. The backline set up is based on that used by AC/DC and in the interest of authenticity nothing can be moved to a different position to accommodate lights or otherwise. If in doubt – leave it out!

Suggested Lighting Ideas for Feature Parts of the Show

Intro (Oh Fortuna from Carmine Burina) Start with black out into moving head based search lights and crowd blinders on bass drops. Bring lights into a light colured wash as band walk on

Any Song With ‘Hell’ in the TitleRed wash

ThunderstruckLightening effect to accompany the claps of Thunder intro track

Let There Be RockCrowd blinders or house lights during the Angus walkabout in the audience

For Those About to RockKeep it simple and let the pyrotechnics do the work. Kill any haze as the song starts and no flashes from the first cannon to the four simultaneous blasts – then go nuts!!!

THE AC/DC SHOW

EXTRAS:

Dressing Room:

A clean, dry, warm (or cool, weather dependant!) dressing room is nice (with sea view, if available).

Tea: It would be really nice to have a fully functional kettle, Tea bags (box standard Tetley/PG Tips), Coffee (Nescafe), Sugar (white/lots!), Fresh Milk, Spoons & at least 8 Mugs in the dressing room. The band like their Tea (yes, we know, very “Rock 'n Roll”) and it will save them bothering you for lots of water and generally make them very happy bunnies. They will also not turn down beer, cider, spirits or any other acholic beverage you care to ply them with, as long as there is Tea available too! A few biscuits wouldn't go a miss either.

Food:

If cooked food is available, please note there is one veggie in the band, so he'll require a salad or something. Stage:

Cold bottled water is always handy – The boys need something to chuck around to look sweaty.

SECURITY:

The Live/Wire show is a high energy show, especially towards the end of the set. Some audience members may get carried away and attempt to get onto the stage. Not only does this unsettle the band but it also ruins that part of the show for 99.9% of the audience who behave themselves.Where possible please post a door man or member of the venue staff (preferably one who is over 6ft tall and weighs at least 20 stones with a penchant for martial arts) in front of or by the stage for the duration of the show.
