About: "Printe" is a traditional baking product of Aachen. It is sweet and can be compared to the taste of gingerbread. The name “Printe” derives from the English term "to print". In earlier times wooden pressure moulds were used for baking the sweets. Those moulds gave the “Printe” it`s characteristic shape. The baking recipe is still guarded by the Aachen Printen bakers as a family secret. “Printe” comes in many variations: hard and soft versions, with herbs, chocolate or nuts and nowadays in all kinds of shapes.
