In the past three week 2 stud ents on staff member and a visiting salesperson had their cars a ll newer models st len ff Bryant cam pus This is the largest nu mbeT of cars stolen from Bryant in the last five yea

Two of the cars are known to have been stolen during office ho urs and three out of the fo ur ca rs had been locked These rs were sto le n from bot of the residen t pa rking lots and ne of the co mmuter lo ts

Support fee increase On October 27 and 28 the Student Senate will be asking

students to permit raising of the Student Activity Fee by a total of seven dollars over two semesters A majority vote would increase the fee from the present $36 to $43

The Activity Fee has risen only six dollars in the last five years and that change took place in October 1980 when the fee was raised from $30

In the last two years inflation has increased some 15middot20 percent Also the number of clubs and organizations financed by the activities fees is approximately 20 more than in 1980

The Activity Fee funds all clubs and organizations on campus excluding the Archway WJMF the Ledger and Brycol lt does fund the Senate the Student Programming Board and every other organization

With the new policies on just about everything that have come down the road in the last two years organizations at Bryant have been bending over backwards trying to create programming With the new Guaranteed Senate Loa1 Program this may have been partially solved but money is and will be tight

This is why the increase is necessary With 3077 people in the undergraduate program and at seven dollars a head it all adds up to $21 539 and a lot of programming

Seven dollars is not a lot of money especially split over two semesters of billing (it is included in the tuition bill ) To put things in perspective thats about equal to a sixmiddotpack of your favorite libation Not much of a sacrifice for better programming at Bryant

Voting will take place from 10 am to 3 pm and 430 to 630 in l

the Rotunda and in front of the dining hall respectively Voting YES is the only way to help improve programming at ryant in the years to come
