THE 7 PRINCIPLES OF PROSPERITY™
1. THINK: Owning a prosperity mind-set eliminates poverty; scarcity thinking keeps you stuck.
2. SEE: Increase your prosperity by adopting a ‘big picture’ perspective in which you can see how each one of your economic decisions affects all the others. Avoid financial ‘tunnel vision.’
3. MEASURE: Always measure your opportunity costs—what your dollars
could earn if you did not spend or commit them elsewhere. Awareness of opportunity costs enables you to
recover them. Ignore this at your peril.
4. FLOW: The true measure
of prosperity is cash flow.

5. CONTROL: Those with

Stay in

than relinquishing control to
others. 6. MOVE: The velocity of money is the movement of dollars through assets. Movement accelerates prosperity; accumulation slows it down. Avoid stagnation in assets where dollars accumulate but are not put to use.
7. MULTIPLY: Prosperity comes readily when your money “multiplies”— meaning that one dollar does many jobs. Your money is disabled when each dollar performs only one or two jobs.

Life Settlements Fund The Penumbra Fund
Program Summary:
Life Settlements comprise an asset class that is quickly gaining favor with accredited investors who wish to
avoid or hedge against-
Stock market fluctuations
Depressed real estate values
Unpredictable commodity prices
Economic and political instability
High management fees without chaining themselves to the depressingly low returns of savings
accounts, CD’s, and money market funds.
The Penumbra Fund is a private equity fund designed for accredited investors that consists of many life
insurance policies.
Life Settlements (also known as Senior Settlements) are created when someone who no longer needs or
wants their life insurance policy sells their policy. The purchasing investor or investment fund buys these
policies and pays all future premiums until the policies mature.
In this case, the investor is the fund itself. As opposed to Life Settlements purchased by Direct Fractional
Ownership, in which an individual investor purchases a portion of a single life insurance policy, the Penumbra
Fund is a private equity fund that increases diversification by purchasing many policies. This approach allows
for a more predictable return.
A brief history… Life Settlements have existed in the US for over 100 years and provide a win-win situation
for both investors and seniors who longer want, need, or can afford their policies. They turn a death benefit
for a beneficiary into a living benefit for the former policyholder. The former policy-holder is compensated
more than the cash-out value of the policy
Now some states even require insurance companies to inform those surrendering their policies about the
opportunity to sell them on the secondary market (i.e., life settlements).
Penumbra Solutions manages the fund. They open up new life settlement funds periodically (once or twice
per year), and typically such funds require a commitment of up to 9 years. The aim is for a rate of return of
10-12% per year, and prior similar funds managed by Penumbra Solutions have exceeded that goal. The
minimum investment is $100,000.
