The 4th of July is Fun!A Social Story
By Alondra Bonilla, Registered Behavior Technician
The 4th of July is almost here. The 4th of July is a holiday also called Independence Day!
On the 4th of July, I get to see my family and friends.
I love my friends and family, but sometimes I need to be by myself.
If I need time to myself, I can tell my parents “break” and they will take me to a quiet room to relax.
I need a break
On the 4th of July, we do a lot of fun things, like eating yummy food!
If I don’t like the food that I see, I can tell my parents “I don’t like that” or “all done.” I can ask for something else to eat.
I don’t like that.
On the 4th of July, people like to celebrate by setting off fireworks. Fireworks are loud and bright!
Fireworks are sent into the sky and set off a loud boom. Then, they explode with lots of bright colors! Many people enjoy fireworks.
If I am outside watching fireworks, I need to stay close to my parents.
If the fireworks are too loud or too bright for me, I can tell my parents that I want to go inside.
Let's gogo
The 4th of July is a fun summer holiday, and I’m excited to celebrate with my family!
