Where On A Poster Would You Like To See The Release Date?

• As you can see the majority of our target audience encounter film posters. This tells us that posters are an effective medium that our audience engage with. It is most likely that the majority of our audience encounter posters in communal areas such as bus stops, on buses, shops and more. We will therefore look at using the traditional position of the release date being in the middle at the bottom of the poster Additionally we would look into representation to ensure our film poster relates to our target audience and reflects a particular Hollywood genre.

What Colour Scheme Is Suitable For A Social Realism, Drama/ Thriller Film?

• As you can see, our target audience preferred dark forest colours and black and white colour schemes to the rest of them. This tells us that the audience relate dark/dull colour schemes to the genres we have chosen which links in to Hollywood’s stereotypical representations of genre codes and conventions.

What Typography Do You Prefer?

• We gave our audience an option regarding which type of font they would prefer if they were to purchase a magazine The feedback from this question shows Lucinda calligraphy as the most preferred font as it is easier to read. Something as minor as font could be the difference between whether or not the customer or audience decides to purchase the magazine as it may be the way they need the font to be in order to read it.

What Do You Feel Is Most Important A Trailer Or A Poster?

• This question is very important when it comes to the production of a film. A trailer is more detailed footage which gives the audience a greater idea of how the film is going to be like compared to a poster which is just a style image or a collection of images and text which tells the story. From the feedback from this question it shows a trailer is much more important than a poster as it gives the audience a greater idea of what the film is going to be like so it helps them with their decision making.

WHAT SHOT SHOULD THE POSTERS IMAGE BE?

• Posters tend to be the difference between generating a higher number of audience or a less number as a poster often tells the viewers the story of the film. This is done by the images or colours used in the poster which often tells you the story or tells you the genre of the film and it may appeal to people and gets them to go and view the film. From this question it was made clear to us that a close up would be most suited to a social realist film about mental health. Close Up Point Of View Mid-Close Up Shot
