PENANDAARASAN KLUANG JOHOR VISIT 1st June 2011

Our school was chosen by the Ministry of Education to be visited

from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar T6 Kluang Johor. The main objectives of the visit was to share experiences and new knowledge on how to achieve their school‟s academics and co-curriculum activities as well as interactions among the teachers to

know their cultures and traditions.

Around 42 recipients were welcomed, followed by a performance of the school‟s Gulingtangan then later proceeded to the conference room where a presentation was given by the school‟s Principal, the Deputy Principal of Academics and Senior Mistress of Administra-tion. Before the school tour, Tuan Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Mohd Nor, the principal of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar T6 gave a speech and exchanged souvenirs with our Principal. The school tour consists of visiting the school‟s surau, Pra-Vocational Room, Computer Room, Art Room, English Reading Room and lastly at the school‟s library where the recipients could see the

school‟s exhibitions on the activities conducted in our school.

A NEW PLANT IN OUR SCHOOL 21st May 2011

THE 27th TILAWAH AL-QURAN COMPETITION 25th June 2011

Alhamdullillah on 25th June 2011, our tilawah Al-Quran competition was successfully organized by the Ugama department with the help of the working committee. The competition was a memorable and attractive one. It was attractive as the stage was beautifully decorated and a memorable one because

our male student won the champion title.

Congratulations to Ahmad Rafiq Azzawani Bin Hj Mohd Zainul Ariffin for winning the 1st place with 95.3 points in the male category. He read Surah Al Baqarah Juz 1 Ayat 87. Not forgetting our student Hjh Wafiqah Binti Hj Daim who won 5th place in the female category with 85.5 points. She read Surah Al-Anfal Juz 9 Ayat 1. Well done to both of you as well as their trainers. Thank you to the guest of honour,

Awang Haji Mahrub Bin Hj Murni, Setiausaha Tetap Pendidikan (Teras) for his presence on that day.

As our student, Ahmad Rafiq Azzawani won this year‟s competition, our school might again be the host

for next year‟s Tilawah Al-Quran competition. Good luck in advance to the participants next year.

Our second Greenwave Day fell on the 21st May this

year. To witness the planting of the Ru Runang tree or the scientific name Gymnostoma Nobile were Cikgu Hjh Aiashah Binti Hj Japar, the school Deputy Principal of Academic and Cikgu Norazizah Hj Md Salleh , the school Deputy Principal of Administration and the other administration committee. The tree was planted at exact-

ly 10 in the morning. 1

A WELCOME VISIT FROM KUALA TERENGGANU 21th July 2011

Our school welcomed 88 recipients from Kuala Terengganu as part of their visit to Brunei

Darussalam to promote the Homestay Teluk Ketapang to our country. Upon their arrival, they were entertained by a traditional dance which was performed by the school‟s represent-atives and later a photography session with the recipients and the teachers. The recipients then proceeded to the Library for a presentation by the Deputy Principal of Academics, Cikgu Hjh Aiasah Bte Hj Japar on the “School Profile” and performance of the students‟ academic and fol-lowed by a presentation by Cikgu Norazizah Bte Hj Salleh, the Deputy Principal of Administration on the

school‟s CCA.

Lastly, the recipients were given a school tour to the

English Reading Room and the Pra-Vocational room.

“RAMAH MESRA” WITH HIS MAJESTY 24th July 2011

A job well done and appreciation to Year 10SCI 1, 10ASCI 2, 10A1 and 10A2 students as well as teachers who

were involved in the Ramah Mesra Celebration of his Majesty 65th Birthday this year.

PTM YEAR 7. Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School recently held its parent-teacher Meeting for Year 7 student for Year 7 students on 29 July 2011. During the parent-teacher meeting, parents met all subject teachers including the optional subjects. The meeting was organized for the Year 7 students of 2011, as part of the continuous assessment of the BCATs (Brunei Common Assessment Tasks). BCATs allows students to show things that they know in their various subjects by completing certain individual and group tasks. At the end of the parent-teacher meeting parents and guardi-ans were enlightened and gained further insight to their child's strengths and weaknesses. PTM YEAR 8 AND 10B. PARENTS of Year 8 and 10B students met with the teachers at the school on 24 June 2011 to get up to date information pertaining to their children's educational development as well as giving out pointers for their upcoming Qualifying Examination. PTM YEAR 9 AND 10A. Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School recently held a Parent-Teacher Meeting for Year 9 and 10A students on 27 May 2011. The school held the PTM sessions during the day with the aim of making it more convenient for parents to stop by and have that ever-crucial conversation with their child's teacher regarding their academic. Such meetings are important to determine how parents can assist their children in preparing for upcoming examinations, whether it is through assistance with homework and revision or support to build up a student's confidence.

WORKSHOP ON EXCELLENT TEACHING 22nd April 2011

CONGRATULATION TO OUR STUDENTS

As part of the professional development for teachers, the school had conducted a seminar

entitled „Excellence Teaching Workshop‟ in April which took place at the school multipurpose

hall. The seminar saw the participation of 180 teachers from Sayyidina Hasan as well as invit-

ed teachers from schools in cluster 3.

The seminar was facilitated by Dato Aidit bin Ghazali from Kuala Lumpur, the Executive

Chairman and Principal Consultant of Akademi Aidit Sdn Bhd. The objective of the seminar

was to equipped teachers with necessary skills and knowledge needed in their teaching ca-

reer.

The one-day seminar focused on various topics which include appreciating the 5 levels of

excellence for a teacher, profiling one‟s student through his/her behaviour, the process of

teacher-student bonding and managing stress for teachers. During the seminar, teachers

were also taught on an interesting technique called graphology whereby a person‟s behaviour

and emotions can be read simply by analyzing their handwriting.

In light of the historical events of Isra‟ Mi‟raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, Sayyidina

Hasan Secondary School, on 7th of July 2011 corresponding to 05 Syaaban 1432H held a ceremony at the school hall. The ceremony was attended by deputy principals, teachers and Year 7 students. The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Yaasin and Tahlil lead by Ustaz Mohd Basir Bin Haji Besar followed by Friday Sermon and Syarahan competition. The competi-tion which was opened for the Year 7 students saw the participation of 5 male students in

the Friday Sermon category whilst 5 female students participated in the Syarahan category. During the ceremony, an open quiz was also held to test students knowledge on Isra‟ Mi‟raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The Friday sermon category was won by Md Ridzuan Bin Hj Budiman of Year 7A whilst Noor Aliah Binti Hj Syaifullah from 7B won the Syarahan categories. The prizes and consolation prizes were presented by the deputy principal, Cg Hjh Aishah Bte Hj Japar while Cg Norazizah Bte Hj Mohd Salleh presented the prizes for the open quizzes winners. The event ended with the recital of doa by Md Ridzuan Bin Hj Budiman of Year 7A.
