A WORD FROM JEFF...

A WORD FROM MARK… At HPCC it is our hope that you get plugged into a Bible study with a group of believers on a regular basis. There are several Bible studies offered at HPCC each week. On Sunday mornings there are two studies offered in the 9:30 a.m. hour and at the 11:00 a.m. hour as well. There are also men’s and women’s Bible studies that happen various times throughout the week. I encourage you to take some time to get involved in a weekly study, if that is not something you have already done. On Wednesday, April 27, at 5:30 (dinner) & 6:25 p.m. (worship) we are going to have a special Wednesday Night Gathering & Pot Luck Dinner. This special night will include a potluck meal, worship, and a message from guest speaker, Ben Merold. Ben has been one of the most beloved leaders in the Christian churches and Churches of Christ over the past half-century. He began preaching in 1948, has led churches in four states, and has preached the gospel in 47 states and seven foreign countries. He received his education at Johnson Bible College, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Lincoln (Illinois) Christian College. He retired from Harvester Christian Church in St. Louis in 2008. We are excited to have him here at HPCC for this special night!

“STARTING POINT” CLASS & LUNCHEON “Starting Point” Class & Luncheon will take place on Sunday, April 24 from 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. Our “Starting Point” Class can tell you about our history, core beliefs, and ways to get plugged into the life of the church. You will also meet members of our church leadership team and our church staff and their families. Make sure to go to our church website or to the welcome center beginning Sunday, April 3, to sign up for this special class and luncheon.

Have a great week! See you Sunday!

Over the last three months we have been excited to welcome 57 new members into the church family at HPCC, with 17 of those being baptized and receiving Jesus Christ as their personal Lord & Savior. We are certainly thankful for all that God is doing and how he continues to do “immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine.” (Ephesians 3:20) Someone once said, “Your most important work is always ahead of you, never behind you.” And we believe at Hikes Point that our greatest work is still ahead of us as we REACH OUT to others, DRAW CLOSER to His Word, GROW in our faith, and IMPACT the world with the knowledge of His love until the day He returns! Be encouraged to join us this month on Sunday Mornings for worship at 9:30 or 11:00 a.m., and also other opportunities that will enable you to connect with others in the church family and beyond our church walls!

HPCC PICTORIAL DIRECTORY

A BIG THANKS goes out to all of our volunteers who helped with the new Church Pictorial Directory & App! Also, a special thanks goes out to our HPCC Church Photographer, Eric Panknin, for all of his time and effort over the last three months. Just a reminder, if you are a member and have not picked up your copy yet, please be sure to stop by the church office this week!

WORSHIP NEWS This just in: Worship at HPCC has been off the charts lately! It is such a privilege to lead the congregation each week. What God is doing in our church right now is something special. I firmly believe one of the reasons for this blessing is the gratitude that is in the hearts of our people: Gratitude for God’s love, gratitude for unity, and gratitude for new beginnings. Colossians 1:3-6 “We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.”

Worship Team Member of the Month: I’m super thankful for altos! That may sound funny, but those who can put harmony into the mix have a special gift. This month I’d like to give a shout out to Dawn Guy. As wife and mother of three awesome kids, Dawn brings a humble, sweet spirit each time she helps lead worship. And she leads by example as evident in the fact that all three of her kids are involved in the worship ministry as well. Thank you Dawn for bringing such a great spirit to our

worship team. We appreciate you! See you at worship this week ~ Josh

STUDENT MINISTRY

Greetings from the Children’s Ministry Staff and Teachers! It is an honor to serve with you in

ministry to your children!

Re-enrollment for 2016 is currently taking place in the Children’s Ministry area. Please fill out a new information form which is available on the hallway

table in the Children’s Ministry area downstairs.

Serving Jesus is what our children are all about! The children are being “assigned” jobs to do during KIDZ Worship. They fulfill their assigned tasks eagerly and joyfully! The scripture “A little child will lead them” (Isaiah 11:16) is certainly an

appropriate description of HPCC kids!

April 3, the Children in Grades 1 through 5 will bring home a bank with instructions on what to do each day. Money collected will help our medical mission team on their trip to the Dominican Republic this

summer.

* Vacation Bible School registration has begun online. VBS is June 5-9, from 6:30 till 9:00 p.m., for children ages 4 years through 5th grade. Volunteers may sign up online too. All volunteers must submit a Confidential Volunteer Application

Form.

* White Mills Christian Camp registration booklets are available in the hallway of the Children’s

Ministry area.

For HIS Kids…Candy & Judy

It’s hard to believe that we’re already to Spring Break! This Spring brings with it some great opportunities to get involved with the Hikes Point Student Ministry. We’d love to have you join us all this month on Sunday mornings during the second service as we journey from Genesis to Revelation, discovering the common thread of Jesus Christ throughout. We’d also like to invite you to come worship with the Hikes Point Student Ministry on Wednesday nights as we dig into God’s Word and learn how to apply it to our lives. Wednesday Night Merge is from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 pm.

I’d like to give a special shout-out to this month’s Student Ministry Volunteer of the Month: Amy Jefferson!
