the 14,000 dollar bicycle
DESCRIPTION
http://kevinoefelein.com I planned on talking about how to command premium prices today, and then BAM… I serendipitously stumbled upon this headline: “Gucci Debuts $14k Bicycle” That is not a typo. We’re talking about a fourteen thousand dollar bike. And get this… It’s not even that great of a bike. It doesn’t come with any of the suspension or fender features that the manufacturer’s next most expensive bike has. And this one costs 4 times the price. But the out of pocket experience isn’t over with that. To complete the look, Gucci offers an $890 bicycle helmet, with Gucci logo naturally, and a $105 water bottle. Not bad for $15k right? OK. Now I know what you’re thinking… This is Gucci, a very well known and a very well known-to-be-expensive brand. They can “get away” with charging these prices, but I can’t. That’s where you’re wrong. Very wrong. You see, the number one way to command high prices and fees is simple… And it’s the key to pretty much getting anything else you want in life. Simply ask for it. That’s it. That’s the key. Dan Kennedy, probably the premiere expert at commanding high fees, says that getting high fees comes down to asking for them, and knowing how to keep a straight face. (loose quote) Just ask for the high fees and keep a straight face. Pretty simple, huh? And the fact is this… Doing so benefits everyone. You see, commanding high fees isn’t all about greed. It’s actually about helping your clients and customers. You see, if you have the ability to command high fees and prices, you have the ability to deliver higher quality products and services… And your commanding high fees can give your clients the obvious benefit of receiving better service and attention. Now what are you waiting for? Raise your prices. It’s in your clients and customers’ interest.TRANSCRIPT
