Dear Parents, Welcome back from a refreshing break! Hope you were able to spend quality time with your children and families. Participation and exploration generate and produce independent youngsters, and this is what we want from our students in the Kindergarten Section. You can help your child become self- confident and independent with a little planning and a few safety precautions. Fun and learning can be enjoyed by all. Childhood is the time to increase independence. As children grow and develop, they become more able to do things, express themselves and explore their world independently. As newborns, we enter the world completely dependent on others for food, warmth, shelter and survival. Throughout our lives we remain connected to those around us. But we also strike out on our own, developing the confidence to explore and make sense of our surroundings, gradually becoming aware that we have influence and a measure of control over things that happen. Humans are fundamentally social creatures. We live in families and communities, actively seeking connections with others. One of our key roles as educators is to help children to be independent and relate to others in positive and collaborative ways. Independence contributes to the development of self-asteem, identity and wellbeing. Dear Parents,

Welcome back from a refreshing break! Hope you were able to spend quality time with your children and families. Participation and exploration generate and produce independent youngsters, and this is what we want from our students in the Kindergarten Section. You can help your child become self-confident and independent with a little planning and a few safety precautions.

When children have the opportunity to make choices, to attempt tasks for themselves, and to take on increasing responsibility, their sense of themselves as competent members of the society grows, therefore make sure that you:

Encourage your child to attempt simple tasks without your help. Help your child to learn how to share his/her ideas and feelings. Help your child to overcome his/her fear of new and unfamiliar situations and

surroundings. Encourage your child to strive to accomplish the goals which they have set for

themselves. Take time to answer their questions, your child will learn from your explanation. Spend quality time with your child on daily basis.

Dear Parents,

A warm welcome back after the Winter break! We hope that you are feeling well rested

and your children are more eager than ever to learn new skills.

During the month of January, we will be focusing on learning about ‘The Four Seasons’.

Please ensure to discuss different types of weather with your child to increase their

awareness and understanding of this concept. Kindergarten children are full of wonder

and the world around them is an exciting place. Try to encourage them to appreciate

their natural environment and when possible explore the outdoors!

In Math, we will continue to learn about numbers, and we value all of the parents that

consistently support their children in acquiring these skills. Reinforcement of this

learning can be carried out in our daily lives such as visiting the mall, beach, park and

many other places that you choose to count items with your child.

Your child’s level of English will increase more and more while they attend school and

they will continue to learn new sounds and letters. Playing games, listening to songs and

reading are all activities that you as parents can do at home with your child. We want

every child to flourish in their learning and if you encourage them and spark an interest

in these activities, this will benefit your child significantly.

We are all feeling excited and motivated to begin the next term with your children and

as always, we look forward to working together as a team!
