At the beginning of the film trailer starts with medium paced shots of the town in which the film is set. The beginning of the trailer also includes non-diegetic and diegetic sounds. The non-diegetic sounds are is a music in the background. The music in the background also fits in with the editing pace and helps set a scene for the trailer. The diegetic sounds is the main character talking about ‘opening day’. This then turns into a voice over to follow into the next scene of the trailer. A few quick edited clips of a baseball games then turn into a long one of a man carrying a shotgun. All of a sudden the tone in music changes

and it becomes more serious. Diegtic sounds are again used to show the gun shots that are seen in the trailer. Fast paced shots are used to show the reaction of both the main character and the people watching the game. Again diegtic sounds are used as a conversation between the husband and wife involved in the film. The trailer then cuts into a diegetic voice over and has a long panning shot of the town and cuts into text saying ‘your NEIGHBORS’. After the text fast paced editing is used again to a long shot of a house in which another diegetic voice over is used. The shot then edits into a conversation between two people and the music changes in sound and depth to create a more intense

atmosphere. Again it then cuts into text which says ‘your FRIENDS’. Once again after the text is shown fast paced editing is used to cut to another scene between two people. One being sat down and quiet and the other talking. The trailer then cuts into text again which says ‘your FAMILY’. The trailer then cuts into a scene. The music then increases in intensity and then goes quite as diegetic sounds is used by one of the characters. More editing is used and the sound is cut and diegetic sounds are used in the sequence. Once again due to the fast editing the sounds involved pick up in volume and the after this the editing then becomes medium paced editing between clips and black screen to create an atmosphere for the audience. At the same time diegetic sounds are used for a conversation as the

editing continues. The trailer then continues to edit between clips and black screens. During this a clip of a woman singing on a bike produces diegetic sounds for the trailer. The trailer then edits to the jail in which fast editing and loud music is used to introduce the plot to the audience. This effect makes the audience jump and scared which is the objective of the film. The trailer continues to edit between clips and black screens to continue its atmosphere. Eventually it reaches the point where hand held shots are used which creates an atmosphere for the audience to make them feel as if they are there. At the end of the video the trailer is edited quickly to show a number of different clips and uses a song to fit in

with the slow pace of the editing at the end of the trailer. The slow music helps suit the end of the trailer as it shows us the end of the clips.

During the trailer a number of different logos are used to show who has made the film. At the beginning of the film there is a logo of the company who have legalised the age of the movie and trailer. The logos are edited into the trailer and whilst the logos are shown they use music to make it fit in with the trailer. Logos are also shown at the end of the trailer. Also with the logos we can see the names of the actors and director which have also been edited into the trailer.

Also in the trailer we can see the mise-en-scene used in the film. We can see from the mise-en-scene that the location is a small town and from the clothes we can see that civilians who live there are families and a working class. We can tell this because of one of the first people we see which is the security guard. The mise-en-scene is important as it tells the audience who is part of the human side and who is part of the non-human side. The mise-en-scene also helps set an atmosphere for the intense parts of the trailer.

This is a poster for the film ‘The Crazies’. In the poster we can see that it has the names of the actors and the names of the people involved. We can also see that it is has a number of different slogans such as ‘insanity is infectious’. This slogan catches the readers attention about the film. The poster also has an image of the town in which it is based and a picture of a girl who has a mask over her face to represent what happens in the film. This image also fits in with the slogan at the top of the page. The layout of the poster is set around the picture to make that the main focus of the poster. The white writing also makes the writing stand out an easy to read.
