FT TESTING AND QUALITY CONTROL OF TEXTILES AND APPARELS L T P C

    3 0 0 3Course Objectives

To acquire Knowledge to the students about fibre, yarn and fabric testing instruments.

To make the students to understand about the yarn properties such as counts, single yarn strength, lea strength and

    yarn twist and evenness characteristics.

To understand the students about fabric properties such as handle, tensile strength, tearing strength, abrasion

resistance, pilling resistance, draping and crease recovery angle.

To create awareness to the students about seam properties, colour fastness test and dimensional stability of

    apparels.

    UNIT- I 9

SAMPLING TECHNIQUES AND FIBRE TESTING: Definition random, biased sampling techniques for

fibre, yarns and fabrics; standard RH and temperature for testing and mechanical processing.
