    Tell Them From Me Surveys

Lane Cove Public School is participating in the Partners in Learning parent survey, another part of the

Tell Them from Me suite of surveys (student, teacher and parent surveys) on student engagement. The

survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student

    wellbeing and engagement.

Running this survey will help us understand parents' and carers' perspectives on their child's experience

at school. These include communication between parents/carers and staff, activities and practices at

  • home and parent/carer views on the school's support of learning and behaviour. This valuable feedback

will help inform our progress with our current school plan as it come to an end. It will also provide us

valuable information as we move into the development of our next school plan.

We are also interested to find out the views of parents and carers in relation to volunteering at the school.

The survey is conducted entirely online on smartphones, iPads, tablets, laptops or computers. The

survey typically takes 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey

will be conducted between 7 September and 23 October. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, however, your responses are very much appreciated.

With current restrictions we will be unable to run parent and community workshops as has been done in

the past in order to gather information. It is therefore really important for as many people as possible to

have their say through this survey so that we are able to plan as effectively as possible for the new School Improvement Plan.

More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au

Inclusive Education Statement for Students with Disability

The NSW Department of Education has released an Inclusive Education Statement for Students with Disability.

This is the next step in the Department’s Disability Strategy commitment to improve learning and

wellbeing for students with disability in every public school. The Disability Strategy was released in

February 2019, and sets out the Department’s plan for providing children and young people with disability, their families and the broader community with an education system that meets their needs.

The statement is about strengthening inclusive education for all students with disability in mainstream schools and their support classes, and schools for specific purposes.

    Inclusive education

Inclusive education means all students can access and fully participate in learning, supported by

reasonable adjustments and teaching strategies tailored to meet their individual needs.

Inclusion should be embedded in all aspects of school life, and is supported by culture, policies and everyday practices.

All NSW public schools should champion inclusive education.

    Have your say

The Department will listen and work with students, parents and educators over 2020 on what support is

needed to strengthen inclusion of students with disability. This feedback will inform an Inclusive Education Policy and practice resources.

  • Netball News and Highlights

What an eventful weekend for netball. Both adult and senior teams finished the season with glowing

results. So far, the club has 3 teams winning their grand final games. Junior are still to play this Friday night.

  • Our second adult team and LCNC 04 also managed to place 3rd overall. Both of these teams have

improved so much over the season and LCNC 04 are in the A grade, so the competition is tough.

Congratulations goes to Lucy Finlayson for being awarded the Umpires Award from NSNA.

NetSetGo finished off their season and have improved amazingly over the year. We hope to see them return to playing netball again next year.

Overall, Lane Cove Netball Club couldn’t be prouder of all their players, they play with passion and good sportsmanship.
