I. General description.
„Expert Pellet” is a temperature controller for central heating boil-
ers with burner for combustion pellets. The controller has the following
features:
• boiler temperature control by manually or programmatically set
point temperature,
• automatic power control of the boiler depending on the heat de-
mand (PID), with the possibility of switching the displacement con-
trol mode
• automatic operation of the central heating circulation pump
• operate one mixing three- or four-way valve with a separate pump,
or the optional steering the central heating circulation pump with
the room controller "Roomster",
• control of multiple independent heating circuits by attaching addi-
tional valve modules,
• domestic hot water (DHW), including the ability to enable the neu-
tralization of Legionella,
• Manual operation or DHW circulation pump program
Implemented in controller advanced control algorithm PID, basing
on sensor measurements, automaticly controls amount of fuel and air,
therefore boiler power. Advantages of such an approach:
• Stable boiler setted temperature, regardless of temporary changes in
consumed power,
• Significantly reduces amount of soot, carbon monoxide and other harm-
ful substances emitted to the atmoshpere
• substantially longer periods between cleaning of the boiler

III. Initial start-up.
1. Configuration The controller is adapted to pre-burner operating at full power rat-
ing. In case of mounted the burner in the boiler of a lower power installer,
with the available parameters, should set the appropriate power rating of
the boiler - otherwise user will be exposed to unnecessary loss of fuel
For proper burner start is required starting dose of fuel approx. 100
- 120 g. Responsible for this parameter is a starting dose of fuel installation
(measured in seconds). Instalator should check that feeder, working for the
time specified by this parameter, provides appropriate amount of pellets

declared in kWh / kg. Higher calorif-
ic value reduces administration
time, lower - extends the time of
administration.
AIR CORRECTION – increases or
decreases the amount of air admin-
istered to the value set at the facto-
ry. The respective values can be
chosen empirically:
- high temperature in the chimney
can provide too much air
- rising smoke from the chimney
may indicate that there is insuffi-
cient air
3. Setting the temperature set point for domestic hot water. Domestic hot water system control is exercised through control of
the DHW charge pump based on water temperature measurement in the
DHW tank.

13
or its components is prohibited.
1. Burner`s work. Immediately after turning on the burner goes into READINESS state
and is waiting for the proper temperature to start.
Conditions of ignite / extinguish of the burner are based on the cur-
rent temperature of the boiler and the hysteresis of work (as determined by
the installer). If the water temperature exceeds a predetermined operating
temperature hysteresis value of work (typically 5 ° C) the burner uncondi-
tionally, regardless of the method of adjustment, go to the READINESS
state, and died previously contained in the fuel. Rekindle will be possible
only when the water temperature falls below the operating temperature of
the hysteresis work.
Measuring the presence of the flame is implemented by a
photoelement placed in the burner. It is recommended the periodic clean-
ing.
FIRING-UP always starts pre-cleaning the burner by turning on
blower to maximum Power. Then, the charge starting dose of fuel is follow-
ing and warming heater of igniter. After warming up of The heater, blower
starts at low power. After a relatively short time, the fuel ignites in the
burner - heater is switched off. After switching off the heater, fuel is replen-
ished in very small portions. Amount of fuel and Power of blowers are
gradually increased until the optimal warm-up the burner. After completion of ignition controller enters WARMING-UP, next
WARMING, starting the power control in accordance with the parameters
set by installer. The maximum power of the boiler may be limited by the
user by POWER BOILER parameter that is available in the combustion set-
tings.
If the installer set step adjustment of the burner, the controller con-
trols the burner working at nominal capacity or less, according to the cur-
rent demand for heat. After reaching the set temperature, + hysteresis
work goes into the post-combustion. If there is selected method of PID control, the controller controls
the boiler continuously changing according to the time of administration,
length of intervals between administrations and the power of the blower.
As reaching the desired temperature of the boiler power should fall to sta-
bilize at a level appropriate to the received power. The unit proceeds to the
afterburner if the boiler water temperature, because of the very low heat
demand, exceeds the specified operating temperature hysteresis value of
work.
EXPERT PID P – TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER FOR C.H. BOILERS
14
In the state of post-combustion fuel supply is switched off - oper-
ates only auxiliary burner feeder to eject the rest of the pellet. The blower
operates with such power as for power reduced. After the complete com-
bustion of fuel, the CLEANING process begins - the blower runs maximum
power. After cleaning time (defined by the manufacturer), the burner goes
into READINESS – the duty cycle can start again automatically after fulfill-
ment of the conditions of temperature.
The controller automatically detects the lack of fuel or extinguishing
of the flame for other reasons. If subsequent attempts to ingnite do not
work, the burner is turned off.
2. Operation of the pumps. If the boiler's temperature is smaller than 6ºC, the anti-freezing
function is on: all the pumps are on. All the pumps are on always after filing
the boiler overheating alarm.
Pumps: the central heating circulation pump. and charging DHW can
be switched just after reaching the boiler's temperature even the last, put
through the installer, the PUMP STARTS TEMPERATURE. If the boiler's tem-
perature falls about 5 degrees below the PUMP STARTS TEMPERATURE all
pumps will be switched off..
2.1 Operation of the central heating circulation pump
The central heating circulation pump work depends on set DHW
mode: a) If the SUMMER mode is on this pump is switched off.
b) When the DHW PRIORITY is on, and the domestic hot water sensor has
been installed, the pump is switched off for the time of loading the DHW
tank.
c) If it is set to WINTER mode, the pump is operating normally, but if the
built-in manual valve is turned off and room panel "ROOMSTER 'is con-
nected, the controller controls the heating circuit, by switching, as
needed, the central heating pump.
2.2. Operation of DHW circulation pump.
This pump is controlled solely by the time, based on settings in DHW
CIRCULATION, and additionally turned off in ECONOMIC MODE (pkt.II.10).
Condition for turning on the pump is temperature of 35°C in a DHW tank.
2.3. Operation of the DHW loading pump
Without the regard on the DHW PRESET TEMPERATURE, the pump
is always off if the boiler's temperature falls below the water's temperature
in the DHW tank, to prevent to cool down water in the DHW tank

Przygotowanie C.W.U. może się odbywać w trzech trybach:
a) WINTER mode - It loads the DHW tank so that the minimum of the two
temperatures is held: OPERATING TEMPERATURE and DHW PRESET TEM-
PERATURE. The pump is switching on when the DHW temperature drops
5°C (standard value of the parameter DHW HISTERESIS, defined through the
installer) below the DHW PRESET TEMPERATURE . The pump is switched off
after reaching that temperature.
b) PRIORITY mode - On the time of loading the DHW tank the OPERATING
TEMPERATURE is placed on the level what the least 10°C higher than DHW
PRESET TEMPERATURE.. Po wyłączeniu pompy ładującej BOILER OPERATING
TEMPERATURE returns to the level set by the user. The pump is switched
on if DHW sensor shows the temperature lower at 5°C (standard value of
the parameter DHW HISTERESIS, defined through the installer) from the
DHW PRESET TEMPERATURE. The pump is switched off after reaching that
temperature.
c)SUMMER mode - charging pump works the same way as in the PRIORITY
mode but the circulating pump is turned off.
Attention!!! In the situation of DHW sensor failure, until replace-ment of the sensor the pump can still work in failure mode parallel with the circulation pump.
Attention!!! Controller has built-in function of Legionella pneumophila neutralization, which can be found in hot water containers. Neutralization function will result in setting DHW temperature to 70 C with priority on Saturday between 2:00am and 4:00am. In the current software version this function is turned off by default and can be turned on by installer.

• In modes 4-W (four-way) FLOOR and RADIATOR, during adjustment,
priority is to maintain the minimum return set temperature. Only
after this condition the program allows the valve to open up and
send a heating fluid for heating circuits.
Attention! To correct adjustment four-way valve is required to connect two temperature sensors: supply and return. Return temperature sensor should be placed as close to the boiler. The manner of the heating system, in particular the place pumps, should ensure a continuous flow of water returning to the boiler – lack of exchange cause incorrect measure-ments of temperature and mixing valve malfunction.
[3] NAME OF THE SYSTEM - can be selected one of 20 predefined names for
the heating circuit, in order to further distinguish if there will be more
modules of valves.
[4] TIME OF MOVEMENT – it is the smallest amount of time that will move
the valve actuator. Should be selected according to a full revolution of the
valve. If TIME MOVEMENT is short and the time for a full rotation of the
valve very long, the valve will be very slow to react to changes in tempera-
ture. If TIME MOVEMENT is too long compared to the time a full rotation, it
will create fluctuations in temperature at the output of the valve, and may
even make impossible to set desired temperature.
[5] ADJUSTMENT RANGE - determines the range of temperatures before
TEMPERATURE SETPOINT, at which the controller selects an automatically
valve opening. Below SCOPE OF CONTROL valve is opened to maximum
[6] WEEKLY PROGRAM - to set and enable and disable the weekly program
of temperature correction for the heating circuit, in analogy to the setup
described above, a program for the boiler temperature.
IX. Error service.
In case of error state like boiler overheating, refrigeration of the
boiler, fire in the fuel container or sensor failure appropriate information
will be shown on screen:
a) Overheating the boiler - temperature of boiler’s water above 92ºC. On the display appears the announcement of the boiler's overhe-
ating and the sound signal is generated. To chill the boiler switched off be-
comes blowing fan and feeder and turned on all pumps. When the temper-
ature of boiler’s water falls below 90ºC, the boiler comes back to the previ-
ous mode of the work.

b) Lighting oneself the fuel in the feeder or in the fuel container. The feeding device’s temperature sensor, installed on the pipe of
the feeder, controls his temperature. In the case of catching the fire the
fuel in feeder or pipe that connects feeders,.possibly sensor failure, the
display appears the announcement of the feeder failure and generated the
continuous sound signal. The notification of this alarm causes disconnection
the blower and the feeder and permanently incorporate the burner`s feed-
er. After the end of the alarm, the burner is OFF. d) Damage of the boiler’s temperature sensor.
Displayed becomes the screen with suitable information and the
sound signal is generated. Switched off becomes blowing fan and feeder
and turned on all pumps. The damage of the boiler's temperature sensor
makes impossible the more far work of the controller. You should exchange
the damaged sensor on new (one can temporarily use the DHW sensor as
the boiler's sensor).
e) Damage of the DHW temperature sensor. Displayed becomes the screen with suitable information and the
sound signal is generated. After stepping out this breakdown the work of
the boiler still is realized in the way provided for the work without the sen-
sor. You should install the new sensor or, through switching off and re-
newed switching on the controller, give up the DHW sensor.
f) Damage of the chimney temperature sensor. Displayed becomes the screen with suitable information and the
sound signal is generated. Further operation of the burner is not possible -
the burner switches to OFF. If you try to a proper message is displayed.

XI. Installer Settings. To access the installer's settings, turn off and on again with the
switch controller . After the startup screen appears with the version
number of the program and buttons i . Click the button to go
to the screen to enter the installer code. Enter the six-digit installer code
(default 111111).
If you enter the correct code, the system saves privileges, which was
included the controller and move to the setting's screen. Transition to this
screen can also be done by pressing a button from the main screen
level. If the system was run with the installer's privileges then in the set-
ting's screen are available separately the user parameters and the installer
parameters.
Dla instalatora dostępne są następujące parametry:
[1] PUMP STARTS TEMPERATURE 25÷65 [°°°°C] Parameter represents lowest boiler temperature at which pumps
will work. All the pumps controlled directly by the controller turns on, if
boiler temperature will be higher than set value and turns off, if boiler tem-
perature will be 5°C lower than this value. Setting high enough value pre-
vents condensation in boiler and helps in quick warm-up. However value
must not be set higher than the lowest possible set point temperature for
the boiler.

ume based on PID calculation program, according to the demand for power
boiler. This adjustment takes place in the range between the minimum al-
lowable power and RATED POWER.
The displacement control mode burner, depending on the current
demand for power can operate at rated power or POWER REDUCED.
[3] DHW HISTERESIS 2÷10 [°°°°C] Parameter describes permissible variance of temperature in DHW
water container. DHW pump turns on when water temperature get lower
than DHW TEMPERATURE minus DHW HISTERESIS. Too low values of this
parameter result in too frequent turning on DHW pump and unstable work
of boiler. Recommended values are 3÷5°C.
[4] DHW DESINFECTION. active / inactive Parameter allows turning on or off function of germs neutralization
in DHW container. While active, once a week at Saturday from 2:00am to
4:00am DHW temperature is automatically set for 70°C and DHW PRIORITY
is turned on. This parameter if turned off by default.
[5] RATED POWER 6÷30[kW] The controller is pre-configured to work with the strength of the
burner plate. After installing the burner in the boiler must be adjusted to
the maximum output power rating of the burner boiler.
[6] REDUCED POWER 6÷30[kW] Parameter specifies the power level adjustment mode reduced dis-
placement. Additionally, during the post-combustion blower blows with the
power corresponding to the reduced power of the burner. The recom-
mended setting is approx. 50% POWER RATED.
[7]HYSTERESIS WORK 1÷10 [°°°°C] This parameter defines the acceptable range of fluctuation of water
temperature in the boiler. Regardless of the mode of regulation, if the boil-
er water temperature exceeds the set hysteresis work, burner enters the
READY state, and died previously fuel and cleaning the grate. The burner
will go to LIGHTING only when the water temperature falls below the
setpoint hysteresis work The recommended setting is 3÷5°C.
[8] STARTING DOSE OF FUEL 10÷60 [s]
This parameter defines the time before lighting the fuel supply, indi-
rectly the size of the initial amount of fuel. This time should be set the start-
ing dose of fuel weighs 100 - 120 g.

[9] SUPPLY TO CIRCUIT Here set the heating circuit's power in the case of three-way valve
connected module. If you choose the option that the boiler is not supplying
directly any of the heating circuit (ie, that all heating circuits are powered
by the valve modules), then the required temperature of the boiler is de-
termined by the valve module. If the are several valve modules, the tem-
perature of the boiler shall be established according to the valve, which
needs the highest temperature..
[10] BUILT-IN VALVE. Enables or disables built-in mixing valve module
If the built-in valve is switched off there is a possibility of direct cooperation
between the controller and room`s controller, called ROOMSTER.involving
the appropriate on and off the central heating. circulation pump,
Attention! Before the start of the heating season it is recommended to purge photo-optical element located in the burner and control the cor-rectness of its actions
