All of my devises on the previous page are an example of technological convergence, because they all have more than one main function. Eg the Iphone isn’t just used to call people, but also for online activities, music and television.

Listening to music on the devices

To get music on an Iphone you can either download it from the internet, live stream, listen over internets sights such as Youtube or sync the music you already have from Itunes on your computer, where as to put music on an Xbox 360 you can either download it online or play it from a cd in the disk drive. The Ipod is similar to the Iphone in that you put sync music from Itunes on a computer to listen to music on it.

How much do the music downloads cost?

Iphone: Music downloads on the Iphone aren’t free, depending on the artist and song they usually cost between 50p-£1. Unless you sync music onto it which you already have on your computer

Xbox-360: Music on the Xbox can be free if played from a cd in the disk drive, usb port etc and rip it onto the hard drive.

Ipod: The only way of getting music onto an Ipod is to sync it from your computer which can be downloaded either legally or illegally.
