STRUCTURAL CHECKSLoss of stability and fall of parts.- Check the solidity of the current structure (architraves, columns, walls, doors, hinges and leaves) in relation to the weight of the

leaves and the forces developed by the drive unit.- Fasten the drive unit in a stable manner using appropriate materials and respecting the guidance in the installation manual.- Make sure that the travel of the leaves is limited (opening and closing) by mechanical stops of adequate strength.- Check that the leaves cannot come out of their guides and fall (for example due to lifting).

Stumbling.- Any thresholds in the floor of the door passage area must be appropriately shaped and signalled.

Materials.- For the construction of sliding and fixed doors, use materials whose possible breakage does not pose any risk of injury to persons. For example with framed leaves, use laminated safety glass, for leaves without frame use tempered glass. The transparent leaves

must be appropriately signalled. N. B. Avoid contact between glass and glass of the leaves in motion.

PROTECTION OF THE POINTS OF DANGER DURING CLOSING

5

Consider that when a large majority of users are elderly, disabled and children, the contact of the door with the user is deemed to be unacceptable.

SPEED SETTING FOR LOW-ENERGY SLIDING DOORS

The table shows the minimum time of travel for the leaf referred to the mass of the door and to the travel of the leaf.

N.B. The test body for presence detection is a parallelepiped (700 x 300 x 200 mm) having 3 faces with clear, reflective surface and 3 sides with dark, matt surface.

PROTECTION OF THE POINTS OF DANGER DURING OPENING

Measures for protecting against flattening and impact during the opening movement, may be regarded as applied to the danger points if at least one of the following solutions is met, considering that for the elderly, the sick, the disabled and children, the contact between door and user is unacceptable.

Please tick the adopted solution:Crushing protection

SOLUTION 1 □The leaf is moving parallel to a flat surface at a distance X 100 mm and there ≤

is a safe distance Y 200 mm between the secondary edge and the adjacent ≥parts of the environment. For telescopic doors, the reference leaf for the measurement is that which is closest to the adjacent part of the environment.

SOLUTION 2 □The leaf moves parallel to a flat surface and the distance from it 100 X ≤150 mm (see figure) and the force of the leaves is limited to the specified allowed values.

SOLUTION 3 □Electro sensitive protective equipment (ESPE) or pressure sensitive protective equipment (PSPE) conforming to EN12978 are provided between the secondary closing edge and the adjacent parts of the environment.

SOLUTION 4 □The secondary closing edge is covered by protections (such as covers, guards

or fixed panels) located at a distance ≤ 8 mm or ≥ 25 mm from the leaves, designed so that:

Ÿ people cannot reach any danger point up to a height of 2.5 m from the floor;

Ÿ they can be removed or opened with the aid of just a tool;

Ÿ do not create additional risk (for example shearing or dragging);

Page 10: TECHNICAL FILE - Automatic Door Company | LABEL UK · Outer opening radar Inner opening radar Emergency opening button Program selector Closing safety sensor Opening safety sensor

The measures of protection against dangers of shearing and dragging can be considered as applied to the danger points during the opening cycle if the safety distances indicated in the figures below are met.

SOLUTION 5 □The secondary closing edge is protected by barriers, positioned at a distance ≤

8 mm or ≥ 25 mm from the movable leaves.

The barriers are designed to direct the pedestrian traffic or to prevent pedestrians from entering unsafe areas.They must be:

Ÿ designed so that children cannot pass over them or crawl under them

Ÿ arranged in an appropriate manner

Ÿ able to withstand forces that occur during normal operation

Ÿ of at least 900 mm of height

The barriers should not create new dangers.

SOLUTION 6 □The door is adjusted according to the Low Energy requirements (see TABLE in paragraph "Protection of danger areas during closing" Solution 2)
