1 Teaching Sequence Structure to be used in all lessons Preview: - Teacher reviews the previous lesson and relates it to the current one. - Teacher talks to the group at a normal pace using the functions to be taught in the lesson in order to get students used to pronunciation. Dialogue (books are closed): - Students listen to the dialogue once. - Teacher introduces vocabulary. - Students listen to the dialogue again. - Students listen and reproduce the dialogue line by line. - Students listen to the dialogue once again and role-play. On your own: - Students use the dialogue as a model to role-play similar situations over their personal names, experiences, knowledge, likes, dislikes, etc. - Teacher asks questions and encourages students to do so about the topic as a reinforcement technique. Set in written: - Students complete the exercises in an orderly fashion: a). gap filling; b). reading comprehension; c). questions. Closing: - Teacher asks students a few final questions to round up the lesson. All lesson details are explained in the teacher’s manual in an addendum printed after the corresponding section of the lesson. As students are completing the written exercises, the teacher records the students’ performances in the corresponding graph of the lesson using the following criteria: a maximum of 5 points for participation (5 being for a good performance and 0 for a bad performance) and a maximum of 2 points for the written exercises.

The “How many… are there?” game The teacher spreads the cards, face down, over the desk and tells students the game is like the memory game, just that in this case the cards to pair are not the same, but related in another way, for example: The card that says 5 fingers should be paired with the card that says A hand. Once students find a match, they have to ask a question using what is in the card: How many fingers are there in a hand? If the next student in turn answers correctly, he gets one of the cards and the asker keeps the other one; if the answer is wrong, the asker keeps both cards.
