IIMUN (Indian International Model United Nations) is an academic simulation of the

United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in

international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda. Twenty nine

students from our school participated in this conference after an effective

demonstration in the school. The students who enrolled for the conference,

passionate about achieving something, thus prepared hard for the event. Their

teachers provided them with the best help they could. The opening ceremony was

held on 10 April at NSCI SVP stadium, Worli. The students pledged their unflinching

support for India's bid for permanent membership at the UNSC by participating in a

cause march, walking from NSCI to Haji Ali. The conference was a two day affair and it saw the enthusiastic participation of our students

where they conducted themselves with great élan. At the end of conference our students bagged positions for the best delegations in their

respective committees. The winners were Dhairya Shah (2nd position), Vasundhara Gupte (3rd position) and Mahek Bhatia (2nd position).

The event enriched the student's knowledge on international diplomacy besides honing their communication and interpersonal skills.

The students of Grade 1 & 2 visited 'Monginis Cake Factory'. On reaching there, they were

shown a movie called “A Day in Mongiland” through which the students were educated on

a vast variety of cakes, photo cakes, eggless cakes, party items and online ordering of

cakes. The movie enriched the students' knowledge and thereafter they were served

delicious snacks. The students were later shown how icing and other decorations of a cake

were made. Then Mr Mongini asked the kids and teachers with birthdays in the month of

April to come forward and cut a cake. Thereafter, the boys enjoyed themselves in the play

area and the girls were given the interesting activity of decorating cup‐cakes. Among the

girls, Vaishnavi Verma got a gift of Monginis cake for the best decorated cup cake. Then

the same activity was conducted for the boys. Thereafter the kids were taken to the cake

production factory of Monginis where they learnt the process of making cakes. The kids

were given a tiffin box as a gift and the Little Baker's Award Certificate. The field trip to

'Monginis Cake Factory' was an enjoyable experience for the students.

Storytelling is a unique human art that brings words and the world to life. As a learning tool, it can encourage students to explore their unique expressiveness and can heighten their ability to communicate thoughts and feelings in an articulate, lucid manner.

In keeping with this objective, a storytelling session was organized for Grade 1. Two facilitators from the drama institute 'Helen O' Grady International' beautifully narrated the story of 'Gulla and Hangul' by Mariam Karim Ahlawat. The students came dressed as their favourite story characters and snuggled up with cosy pillows to lose themselves in the magical world of a story. The session enhanced their listening skills and developed their imagination.

Handwriting is an important aspect of learning. Despite the increased use of computers in schools and at home, being taught how to hold the pen, how to form letters, and how to join them successfully so that words are written with ease and fluency is just as important as being able to read well.

With this objective in mind, a Handwriting Competition was organized for Grades 1 to 9. It was conducted in respective classrooms. Three winners from each section were selected on the basis of neatness, presentation, letter formation, spellings and punctuation.

Pre-Primary

This year we introduced the system of induction for the new students.

A special time table was set for these three days i.e. 29 March, 1 April

and 2 April 2016. This induction was done with the aim of acclimatizing

the children, so that they get acquainted with the school environment.

Takeaways were made with the participation of children and teachers.

It helped break the ice between the students and the teachers.

“Colors are the smile of nature”

We celebrated “Red Day” with our Pre- Primary kids to understand the concept of Red color. The classes were

adorned with Red coloured articles made by the teachers. The teachers and our little sunbeams of kindergarten came

dressed in different shades of Red. The children were told that the colour Red stands for love. They were shown

different shades of Red. The celebrations ended by playing a game. The children went home smiling, with their
