Induction Coach - Lead

Position Summary: The Induction Coach – Lead is responsible for supporting the growth and development of pre-service and beginning teachers

in order to accelerate their competence and confidence as reflective and effective professionals.

# of Positions: 1 (1.0FTE)

Amount of Teacher Leader Service: 191 days

Training required: Summer – 40 hours

School Year – 40 hours

Compensation:

Current salary plus 6%

Summer professional development @ $25/hour

Job Requirements: Standard Iowa Teaching License with five years of teaching experience with at least three years of experience in the Cedar

Rapids Community School District (preferred)

A commitment to supporting the growth of others and the belief that adult learning is essential to student learning.

Broad knowledge of curriculum and instruction.

Designing, presenting and facilitating adult learning experiences preferred.

Experience in working with students with challenging behaviors (preferred).

The Instructional Coach – Early Learning coach is to work closely with teachers and other school staff including administration, Cedar Rapids Early Learning office staff, other instructional coaches, GWAEA staff, etc. to enhance instructional practices at the classroom level and raise the level of achievement for all students.

Instructional Design Strategist – Early Learning (General Education)

Position Summary: The Instructional Coach will provide leadership, support and professional development for best practice regarding Early

Learning standards, assessment, characteristics of effective instruction, and the integration of technology resources in the

learning environment.

# of Positions: 1 (1.0FTE)

Total Days of Service: 191 days

Training required: Summer: 12 hours

School year: 72 hours (monthly meetings)

Compensation: Current salary plus 6%

Five additional days at per diem

Summer professional development @ $25/hour

Job Requirements: Standard Iowa Teaching License with five years of teaching experience with at least three years of experience in the Cedar

Essential Job Elements: Instructional Design

Act as an instructional leader that shares the responsibility of carrying out the goals of the Cedar Rapids Early Learning Program.

Supports the implementation of the Cedar Rapids Early Learning curriculum.

Serve as a team member with the Cedar Rapids Early Learning office staff in order to support teachers in implementing quality preschool programming.

Support the Pre-K teams as they answer the PLC questions: 1. What is it that we want all students to know and be able to do? 2. How are we going to know if they know it? 3. What are we going to do about it if they don’t know it? 4. What are we going to do about it if they do know it?

programs and ideas, modeling of effective teaching strategies, coaching, and assisting with individual and/or team planning.

Develop and sustain trusting, productive relationships with teachers, administrators, and other colleagues individually and in teams.

Manage the GOLD online system entering classrooms and archiving children. Assist teachers in the collection, analysis, and use of varied data to identify student learning needs, plan instruction

to address the needs, and assess student progress toward expected outcomes. Conduct peer observations and feedback in a non-evaluative role.

Assist teachers in understanding the role of the core curriculum, assessment, and the Iowa Early Learning Standards in relationship to intensive instruction/intervention for students.

Assist with the planning and implementation of district provided professional development initiatives.

Maintain appropriate records and protects the confidentiality of data.

Meet the 8 Iowa Teaching Standards and 42 criteria on a consistent basis.
