Wellness Tips for Families

Teach your children rules for using the Internet safely. They should NEVER do the following:

Tell anyone (including friends) their computer password.

Use bad language or send cruel, threatening or untrue e-mail/social media messages.

Give out any personal information, including family member names, home address, or school name.

Arrange to meet a stranger that they have “talked” with in an online “chat room.”

Remind your children to walk safely especially during Halloween night. They SHOULD:

Cross the street at corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.

Put electronic devices down and keep heads up and walk, don’t run, across the street.

Watch for cars that are turning or backing up.

Make children alert and teach them about strangers. They SHOULD remember that:

They should not walk away with anyone other than a parent or the person who was already

arranged to take care of them that day.

An adult does not need help from a child– not to find a puppy, not for anything. This is a red flag.

They should avoid getting into a car with a stranger at all costs.

They can speak to school staff if they do not feel comfortable in any situation.

OCTUBRE 2016

¿Son Dulces la

Única Recompensa?

Al ofrecer la comida como

recompensa por el buen

comportamiento, los niños aprenden que

ciertas comidas son mejores que otras.

¡Considere recompensar a sus hijos con

palabras cariñosas y abrazos, o deles premios no

comestibles como calcomanías, para hacerlos

sentir especial!

K-2. Necesitamos

asegurar que haya apoyo

en las áreas que tengan

dificultad para alcanzar el

éxito académico.
